Jascisce, Lukendra, and Eyatone blinked to the second floor, and found Concorde, Illoaide, Matharos, Cirrus, Nimrodeux, Daughter, and Umbra were already there waiting for her. The fox girl was shocked and her hair stood on end. "I'll change into a more proper outfit," Jascisce said, and disappeared behind the group, racing up the stairs.
"So," Eyatone said, "what's up with you seven?"
Umbra explained everything.
...
"Ooh," Lukendra remarked, "That's sad and nice at the same time."
"Concorde and Illoaide are destined for each other," Eyatone told her, "Prophecy biz. In fact, they're also meant for each other."
"Oh," Lukendra replied, "I see. This means you are all complete, with the addition of my sister."
"Jascisce is your sister?!" Illoaide exclaimed.
"I thought you were dead!" Concorde added.
"She was?" Cirrus asked.
"Jascisce told me," Concorde replied.
"Who's Jascisce?" Nimrod asked.
...
After an lengthy explanation on who Jascisce asked, Concorde asked, "Any questions?"
From out of nowhere, Jascisce appeared, wearing a blue polo shirt. She asked, "Where were you? Who are the three? Why is Daughter here?"
"Well Connie," Illoaide said, "I'll do the talking."
...
A lengthy explanation later, Jascisce finally understood what happened and then shared her news.
"Since you're now the last Chosen," Concorde said, "We're all complete."
"That's what I said!" Lukendra exclaimed.
"We need to tell the other Chosen Ones and our friends!" Illoaide said.
"Starting with Mako and Varblah," Eyatone pointed at the two rulers of MTP, now purple eyed, fired up and ready for battle, "They were hypnotized into thinking that Concorde and company are detrimental to their friendship and need to be killed."
Umbra looked at the staves of Concorde and Illoaide, and then he had an idea.
"Hey Illoaide!" he said, "Right, your staff is made of Holyore?"
"Uh yeah," the drider demigoddess replied, dangling from a string, "Why?"
"Try giving their heads a good whack or casting spells at it," Umbra replied, "Maybe the effects of the ore will do stuff to it."
Illoaide did as she was told and approached the two. She raised her staff and was about to whack Mako on the head when Concorde said, "Stop!"
"Why?" Illoaide asked, "I was hoping it would cure them!"
"Holyore staff, dude!" Daughter said.
"The metal's said to cure any impurities!" Matharos added.
"But don't hurt them!" Concorde protested, "Mako and Varblah don't like being whacked on the head. Besides, a purposeful injury to the two is equivalent to a fine of three hundred emerald for the first offense!"
"And how about an accidental one?" Nimrodeux asked.
"One hundred gold," Concorde replied.
"Then make it look 'accidental' " Cirrus exclaimed, "or just tell them it was an accident."
"Or the truth," Concorde replied, bringing out his staff.
In one accord, both elves whacked the heads of the Leaders. At once, the consciousnesses of the Leaders were restored.
Mako shook her head, a little dizzy from the impact. So did Varblah, who then straightened his hat.
"What happened?" Mavinde asked. She looked at the two elves, the Hereafter Inhabitants, the two Fox sisters, Daughter and Umbra, and Eyatone. "Explain all of this to us," Varricon ordered.
Concorde opened his mouth to protest, but Jascisce put a finger to his mouth to silence him. At once, Umbra took the helm in explaining everything that happened until this moment.
...
"Since you're all complete," Varblah said, "We need to go tell the others!"
"But Q-Tip, Kip, and Myrrah are still under the Mistress's control," Mako said, "We need to go rescue them as well."
"We need to go now," Concorde replied, "but first, I'll cough up the six hundred emerald."
"Never mind that," Mako replied, "We leave immediately!"
In a flash of light, the entire group disappeared from the coffee shop.
