The next morning, Queen Layarune, Daughter, Umbra, Cirrus, and Concorde showered up and prepared themselves to go to the Upper Hereafter. However, even after all the prepping Concorde had done, he was still a nervous wreck due to the nightmare.

...

They went out of the Palace by "midmorning". A limousine took them through the city streets and out of the city proper of Lower Hereafter, following a curving mountain road which went higher and higher.

As they went higher, the road started to turn golden. The four looked out of the windows to see the view, but Concorde fell asleep.

...

By noon, they reached the clouds of Upper Hereafter. The sun was shining brightly there and had Concorde stayed awake, he would have seen the crystal clear rivers, the grassy green fields and the bright blue sky. The city proper followed that of the Lower Hereafter, but all its buildings were made of gold, diamond and jewelry. Umbra and Daughter took pictures of the place.

The city proper was a bustling progressive city headed by Queen Mikayla. Angels and all species flew here and there, getting from one place to the other. There was no traffic throughout the city streets, and everyone looked happy. Concorde would have seen it, but he was still asleep.

The limo arrived at the large triangular shaped palace of the Queen and stopped at its front doors. Cirrus woke the elf up by pasting a glob of silk on his cheek. When he saw what she was doing, he screamed and jumped out of the car. Layarune and Daughter were laughing as Umbra rang the doorbell.

An angelic butler greeted all the five visitors. "We're here to see Queen Mikayla," Queen Layarune said to him.

"I see," the butler replied, "Follow me to the dining chambers."

The five entered the palace and followed the butler down a zigzag corridor painted with clouds and angels flying about. He went to a double door and opened it.

It was an ornate dining room with a long table. On it were wares made of the finest gold alloys and the centerpiece was three candelabras evenly placed between four bouquets of the finest flowers. Even the chairs were made of gold.

"The Queen and her company will come down to meet you shortly," the butler said, "In the meantime, why don't you take a seat already?"

The five did as they were told, sitting beside each other by alphabetical order of first names near the end of the table. The light of the windows behind them lit up the room.
