Conclusion

Quth'thkareph looked up at the towering form of the Mistress, her glowing eyes focused on something. Then, she turned around, and saw the gigantic Concorde and Illoaide writhing and thrashing in pain.

She took a deep breath, and said, "Here goes nothing!" Using her scorpion legs, she dove a bit into the water, rose back again, and jumped high into the air, her right arm outstretched and holding the staff tightly.

Meanwhile, Concorde struggled to lift his head up. He succeeded after a few extremely painstaking minutes and saw what looked like Quth'thkareph flying up in the air, her figure almost right in front of the Mistress's gaze.

"Illoaide," he said.

"What?" the drider replied, squirming on the ground.

"I think Q-Tip is trying to save us," he replied.

"But she won't survive!" Illoaide replied, groaning yet once again as another wave of pain hit her.

"She really won't --- wait a minute! She's extending her staff!"

"But why?"

"Elementary sorcery optics, my dear! (groan) She's going to use the crystal to refract the gaze---"

"So that the Mistress's gaze will be diverted to a different route and we won't feel the pain anymore! That's brilliant!"

...

Meanwhile...

"Well, here goes nothing!" Quth'thkareph said as the top of her staff approached the gaze. She closed her eyes, hoping that her feat will be remembered whether she makes it or not...

All she heard now was the pained screams of the Mistress. She opened her eyes and saw the Mistress cover her eyes in pain. Her plan worked, the Mistress suffered her own spell, and Concorde and Illoaide were up again.

Now blind, the Mistress curled herself into a ball and screamed, "I've had enough!" A ball of the darkest magic formed inside her, growing as she muttered and channeled all her hate and dark magic into that ball.

Elyssa approached the giant elf and the drider, and asked, "What's happening?"

"I think the Mistress is trying to eradicate us with a ball of pure dark magic!" Illoaide replied, pointing to a black ball slowly rising above the Mistress.

"Pure dark magic?!" Elyssa replied, "That kills you instantly!"

"Not if I deflect it back using my staff," Concorde replied, imitating a batter's pose, "I've been constantly channeling magic through this thing, let's see if it can be a physical weapon."

"Well you better make it right" Elyssa said, "because here it comes!"

Indeed, Elyssa was right. The Mistress hurled the orb straight at them. Concorde was waiting.

It was flying towards them...

Concorde's eyes squinted.

It was fast approaching.

The elf demigod muttered, "Hey batter, batter."

It was now a few inches from them, and Elyssa was bracing for impact.

Just then, Concorde saw the perfect location, and began to "...SWING!" It was a perfect hit, since both ball and staff made a PING! sound as they collided. It reverberated around the entire world and echoed towards the heavens. Illoaide held her ground, but Elyssa was knocked back, spiraling into the air.

After the reverberation, the orb reversed direction and headed towards the Mistress. It turned white and sped up, gaining more speed as the distance between it and the Mistress closed.

The Mistress braced for impact as she stood up, and the orb hit her squarely in the chest, passing through her human heart and exiting it. It then ran through the upper half of her spider abdomen, slicing her heart in half.

With one final scream, the Mistress blew up and disintegrated into thin air. And the skies were clear once again.

"Well, " Concorde said, "That's it."

"It's over," Illoaide added, "We did it."

Both elf and drider looked at each other as they tried to take in everything they have done from the very start. They had met their adversary, got caught up in the business of the Deities, became the stars of a legend, and finally vanquished their enemy.

...

Down below, everyone was cheering loudly for the same reason, but what got their attention was the voice of Lazmondias speaking from the heavens.

"It's finally over, thanks to you two," it said.

The two looked up and saw the smiling faces of Lazmondias, Vai'Ramon, Lolth, and Corellon along with Layarune and Mikayla.
