Even though Suga knows that it is important for him to return to his people sooner rather than later, he digs a grave for the baby raccoon, using the knife Daichi gave him. The whole process is difficult and slow, and by the time Suga is done, he has a few red blisters on his hands. But it's worth it. It's worth it to show the baby raccoon the respect she deserves.

Still a bit shaken up, the walk home continues to feel longer and longer... So long that he wonders if he will ever get home. So long that when he sees the familiar, closely grouped trees, with nests made on top of their branches, that Suga nearly shouts in glee. He's home, he's finally home!

He only gets a second to breathe before his good friend, Tanaka changes into human form, runs over to him, and nearly squeezes the life out of him. "Suga! You're alright!" He says, practically shouting. "I was worried about you and Kageyama!"

"Why? What's wrong with Kageyama?" Suga asks, automatically worried about the younger crow-person. Kageyama is normally intelligent, but he often lets his anger get the best of him.

Slowly releasing Suga from his hug, Tanaka grimly says, "He's disappeared... No one has seen him since yesterday... Since he came to see you and got angry when you refused to fight the humans..." Suga knows that he should stay calm, and try to stay positive. Yet... All he can think about are the traps.

The rope traps...

The traps with angry, pointed teeth...

The dead raccoon...

Could Kageyama be caught in a trap?

Could he be hurt?

Could he be....

"Has anyone gone to look for him?" Suga asks hoping the answer is yes, but also hoping the answer is no. Kageyama isn't the only one that could have got caught in a trap... Anyone and everyone could have gotten caught in a trap.

Anyone and everyone could have been injured...

Anyone and everyone could have been killed...

"We haven't been able to... Between the rain and traps that Ennoshita found, we didn't think it was safe enough to go searching for him," Tanaka says, with his frown only deepening. "I don't like it... Any of it. Where did Kageyama disappear to? Where did you disappear to?" Tanaka gazes straight into his eyes as he speaks. He seems to be hoping that if Suga won't answer him that he'll be able to see the answer. That he'll be able to see through Suga's body and into his soul.

With a small sigh, Suga says, "I'll answer your questions in due time... For now, make sure everyone stays in the trees. If someone needs to walk in human form for an emergency, make it clear that they need to walk in pairs... And also, they need use a stick to tap the ground in front of them, as a way to detect traps." Much to his relief, Tanaka's frown is slowly fading. It seems as though he has managed to calm him... At least, he has managed to calm him for a little while. "Please assure everyone that I am alright... Please tell everyone that everything will be fine. Tell them that I'm taking care of it. All of it."

"You should tell them yourself," Tanaka says, his frown quickly returning. He knows what Suga is insinuating, he doesn't like it one bit.

"I would love to, but it's my job to protect you all... It's my job to protect every single one of you. I'm going to find Kageyama... I'm going to get rid of all of the traps... I'm going to save this forest. But I need your help." His words earn him a loud, annoyed groan from Tanaka.

"Fine, fine but you better explain everything to me later... Especially why you are wearing some human's jacket." Tanaka, after giving him some supplies (extra animal skins, a pouch of worms), he watches Suga leave, shouting, "AND YOU BETTER NOT TAKE A LONG TIME, KING!" Suga can't help but laugh. Tanaka shows his worry in the strangest ways... But Suga loves it. He loves how unique his friend is. He also loves how dependable his friend is.

"I'll try my best," Suga shouts back, looking over his shoulder in order to flash Tanaka a small smile, "See you soon, Ryuu!" Quickly turn his head back so he is watching where he is going, Suga begins to tap. He begins to tap using a long stick.

Tap.

Tap.

No traps yet... But he knows it is only a matter of time before he finds one. It is only a matter of time before someone else comes across one...

Tap.
