"Wow! This is delicious!" Suga exclaims, after having taken one mere bite of the Quiche. Daichi can't help but notice the sparkle Suga's eyes gain, and the large smile that spreads across his face. To Daichi, every facial expression Suga makes is cute... Especially the one that Suga makes when he notices that Daichi is eating with chopsticks and not a fork. "What are those?" Suga asks, with a mouthful of Quiche. Realizing too late that his mouth is full, Suga hastily swallows the Quiche.

"They're chopsticks," Daichi says, and sensing the question that the curious Suga will ask, he quickly adds, "I'll get you some so you can try it." His words earn him yet another dazzling smile from Suga. Desperate to hide is blush, Daichi hastily rises out of his seat, goes to the kitchen to get chopsticks for Suga, and returns.

When he hands them to Suga, their fingers brush against one another. Much to his surprise, Suga has soft skin. How does someone that lives outdoors have soft skin? "You use them like this," Daichi says, all the while trying to slowly demonstrate how to use chopsticks. Despite all of his efforts, Suga struggles with the chopsticks.

"Ahhh Daichi these are impossible," Suga exclaims, with a small sigh. "I can't believe you use these so easily..." With his brows furrowed together, Suga tries, one last time to use the chopsticks. He manages to pick up a piece of the Quiche, and raise it to his mouth... But it falls back onto the plate before he can put it in his mouth. This failure results in Suga releasing a loud, frustrated sigh. "Maybe I should stick to the fork..."

With a chuckle, Daichi says, "You were close! Don't give up!" Before he can stop himself, he reaches across the table and places one of his hands over Suga's, and adjusts the position in which Suga is holding the chopsticks. Much to his surprise, Suga is no longer wearing a smile. In fact, he looks like he is on the verge of tears.

"Daichi..." He whispers, "How long do you think we have before the forest is completely destroyed? How long do you think we have to save my home, and your home... If my home is destroyed, and the crow-people or forced to integrate with human society, it is only a matter of time before people discover what we are... Before some humans want to dissect us and experiment on us..." Suga is too scared and upset to be worried about the fact that he just told Daichi a lot more than he meant to.

Deciding to comfort Suga first, and ask questions later, Daichi says, "I'm not sure... Likely two months at the most. No matter what," Daichi moves his hand from on top of Suga's hand to cradle one of his cheeks, "We'll make it work. Have faith in me. Have faith in yourself."

"I'll try," Suga says in a shaky voice, "I'll try..."

"So will you tell me more?" Daichi asks, while he and Suga are cleaning the dishes. Well, he is washing them and Suga is drying them. He was going to let Suga do it but Suga tends to get distracted by the "wonderful" hot water.

"More about what?" Suga chirps, playing dumb. He knows EXACTLY what Daichi means.

"About yourself and the crow-people. You brought up crow-people up when you were upset earlier..."

Suga pretends to have an intense fascination with the plate he is drying for a few seconds in order to avoid answering Daichi. With a small sigh, he says "I suppose telling you a few things couldn't hurt..." Just as he says that, memories and images come back to him... Images of his dead parents's bodies. Perhaps sharing information would hurt... But then again, based off with what Daichi has shared about himself, and the experiences he has had with Daichi, there is no reason not to trust him.

Suga needs to trust him. He alone can't save his people.

Suga wants to trust him. Daichi is kind, compassionate and... And incredibly cute.

"We have a human form and a bird form," Suga says, all the while staring at the reflection of his face within the plate. "We can transform between the two... I'm not supposed to have feathers in this form... If I'm tired or stressed or injured, it is difficult to transform properly." To his surprise, Daichi has stopped washing dishes in order to look at him as he speaks. Daichi seems genuinely interested in what Suga is saying. Feeling the need to keep Daichi's attention, Suga says more, "We usually only use our human forms when we are too tired to fly, or want to investigate recent human events that impact the forest."

"I hate to interrupt," Daichi says softly, "but how many of you are there?"

"Quiet a few..." Suga says, speaking softly like Daichi, "But not as many as there use to be... Not by a long shot." Hoping to cheer both himself and Daichi up, he changes the subject. "We are ruled by a king."

"Just a king?" Daichi asks, seeming confused. "Not a king and queen?"

"There use to be a king and queen," Suga says, growing sad once again, "but they got killed by humans... Now their son is ruling. So I guess we are technically ruled by a prince..."

"I see... I'm sorry to learn that they died," Daichi says, all the while studying Suga's face. Suga looks extremely sad... He looks as though talking about the death of the king and queen are like talking about the deaths of his own parents... Perhaps they are his parents... Daichi decides to not ask anymore questions. Slowly walking over to Suga, Daichi wraps his arms around his slender frame. Suga is tense until Daichi whispers, "I mean what I said. I won't hurt you... In fact, I'll never hurt you, Koshi."
