"Hi, Cory," whispered Ella when she saw Cory reading by the tree. It was about 4:30, a cool breezy Friday.

"Oh," said Cory, placing his black bookmark in his book. He shut the book, allowing Ella to see what he was reading. He was probably done with Twilight, for he was reading To Kill a Mockingbird.

A breeze blew orange leaves onto the lawn. Ella was about to say something when Cory's front door flew open. A woman was on the inside of the house, stepping out. She squinted as if the sun was in her eyes, even though it clearly wasn't. She wore a plain dress that ended at her knees. She had a wrinkly face and a few grey hairs.

She slowly opened her mouth, her dry lips parting to speak. "Cory, inside!" she shouted in a raspy, yet a bit wise, voice. Cory shuddered a bit.

"Yes, mother." Cory sat up and slowly trudged into his house.

Ella smiled nervously at Cory's mother. She didn't want Ms. Month to think she was a werewolf. Because that would not be good.

Ms. Month stared at Ella. Is the looking at me in curiosity? Ella wondered, tilting her head. Or in hatred?

Ella didn't walk away until Ms. Month shut the door, not at all in a hurry. Once Ms. Month was obviously inside her house, Ella brushed her hair out of her face and ran home, her backpack thumping against her.

Once inside her room, Ella took a deep breath and fell back on her bed. Mr. Rook came in, leaning against the wall. "You saw Ms. Month, didn't you?" He walked towards the bed and sat down, the sheets wrinkling.

Ella nodded, wide-eyes. "She even looks evil!"

Mr. Rook nodded. "Stay away from her, unless you are using, the plan."

Ella smiled. "Don't worry, Fa-" But she was interrupted by John, running and panting in the room. He was probably running in wolf form a few seconds ago, thought Ella.

"Jose, Jose," he panted. "Ms. Month. S-she knows a-a-about m-me being a w-werewolf! She s-saw me changing when I was r-running o-o-over here!"

Jose gasped. Ella's eyes went wide. "Did she see you in human form changing into wolf form?"

John licked his lips and straightened out his brown shirt. "Well, she saw a wolf run by. A very large wolf. One eye red," he said, pointing to his left eye, which turned red because he was the Alpha. "And one eye g-green," he stammered, pointing to the other. "I think she's onto me!"

Mr. Rook sighed. "That's not as bad as you described it. We thought she saw you in human form changing into wolf form!" He got up from Ella's bed and walked out of the room, in front of John at all times.

Ella did a half smile and walked over to her shelf. Buried under an ugly, brown sweater and a large pair of jeans was Ella's diary. She flipped to a new page and wrote.

Friday, May eighth, 2016

Dear diary,

I haven't written to you in a while. But now, I have to tell someone about what has bee going on. Diary, Ms. Month is after me! I'm worried she's going to find out about my secret. About Father's and John's secret. Diary, please protect me! Please make sure Ms. Month doesn't get to me! I want to stay a werewolf!

But diary, I also like that boy that reads by the tree. Cory Month. But I'm worried that if I get too close to him, Ms. Month will get too close to me!

After writing her latest passage, Ella shut the book and placed it back in its secret spot. She sighed and came to dinner.

Hopping down the stairs, Ella looked at my watch. 6:38. She smiled and thought of what was going to be for dinner. But she gasped when she saw someone sitting at the dinner table next to John and across from Mr. Rook.
