Micah POV
School, football and my mind had me stressed out.
I was mentally exhausted and felt like I needed to just relax.
The first thing that came to my mind was Janie.
I had met her a month after I moved to Garrison.
Some of the football guys had invited me to a party on the outskirts of town.
I tagged along and ended up getting quite drunk outside on the balcony.
Janie had stepped out and she was crying, I was drunk but I remember asking her what was wrong.
She told me her boyfriend broke up with her.
Janie asked me what I was doing out there alone and in my drunk state I told a complete stranger one of my biggest secrets.
She listened to me with shock on her face and when I started laughing/crying, she hugged me.
When I looked down at her she was crying too.
We did what drunk people do and made out with each other right then and there.
I took Janie back inside the house where we found an empty room on the top floor and we had sex to drown our sorrows.
When we were done we both bursted out laughing, I had sobered up plenty by then.
Thinking about that night made me shake my head in amusement.
Two complete strangers crying and clinging to each other on a balcony in the freezing cold at 2 A.M. In the middle of nowhere.
I should've been completely embarrassed, I should've never talked to her again but I didn't care.
Janie was cool and she didn't even live in Garrison, she lived in the next town over where I knew no one.
I would never bump into her.
That night she put her number in my phone and left to find her friends.
Since then we would meet up every once in a while, at an abandoned farm out in the country roads between both our towns.
We would mess around and talk a bit. She was fun and we agreed to strictly be friends only.
She wasn't ready to be in a relationship after her break up and I hadn't had a serious girlfriend since my senior year of high school.
I wasn't looking for one either. I pull up her number and she answers on the third ring.
"Hey Janie what are you up to?"
"Not much at all these days what about you Adams?"
"Don't refer to me with my last name you know I hate that"
"I know you do"
"Alright I just wanted to kno-"
