Part 23

Micah POV

After the dreaded test paper I have to write for literature, I'm gonna have some fun.

I went home confident as ever yesterday, pissed off too. But mostly turned on

I had kissed Aubree. And she had kissed me back! It was on now.

I walk into class and when I do I look for her but she isn't even here.

I go to my usual spot next to Chloe and she smiles, I take my notebook out and get ready to start writing since we'll be timed as well.

Until I hear Chloe speak

"Fuck."

I turn to look at her confused but she's looking towards the door.

When I look up I see what she's talking about

What the fuck.

In walks Aubree with some bandage around her hand but the black eye is what throws me off

I turn towards Chloe again and she's now looking down at her desk and I can see tears gathering in her eyes

"Chloe what's going on?"

She shakes her head as if saying no, nothing. But I obviously know better.

I look at Aubree again and she's prepping for the test.

Im suddenly concerned what the hell happened? Did she get in a fight? I can't think of another way she'd get that black eye, I'd had my fair share.

When class is over I sit up quickly and gather my stuff. Chloe rushes past me and I watch as she tries to catch up to Aubree who's already out the door.

I walk out and watch as Chloe runs up besides her and tries talking to her. Aubree pulls her hoodie over her head and tries walking faster but Chloe insists on keeping up with her

I walk behind them trying to catch up but my books fall and I have to stop to pick them up

Eli walks by with an arm around some girl but he looks to his left and then back when he notices Aubree and Chloe

He leaves the girl completely stranded and she stands there confused as he runs towards the girls

I watch as he turns Aubree towards him and she tries to get his hands off her but he holds on tight

Chloe seems to be screaming at Eli to let her go and finally I walk up behind them

"What the hell is going on? Leave her alone. She obviously doesn't wanna talk to anyone"

I turn to Eli

"Get your hands off her bro when a woman tells you to not to touch her, you don't touch her."

He looks pissed off and he points a finger at me

"You! Just go you don't even know what's going on, leave us alone."

"Fuck off Coleman! Just let her be, you too Chloe. Let's just let Bree be on her way she looks like she had a rough morning. Give her some space."

Aubree looks at me and I stare back at this beautiful girl who looks completely exhausted, all I wanna do is wrap my arms around her and tell her its okay

My sisters always said I was instinctually protective and right now all I wanted to do was that.

I had known from the beginning that she had been through a lot based on drilling Ricky for information.
