Part 22

Micah POV

I'm laughing all by myself on my way to my car when Ricky spots me and looks at me with a confused look.

"Have you finally lost it Adams?"

He starts walking next to me

"The funniest shit happened today bro!"

Since I can't seem to stop laughing he begins to chuckle along with me and I try to compose myself

"I was fucking with Bree you know, just flirting a bit and she got nervous or something I don't know and she started choking on a huge m&m!"

I'm cracking up again and he looks at me with raised eyebrows

"That girl will kill you some day! You're asking for it Micah, like I've told u millions of times before---"

"I know, I know, be careful..she almost kissed me the other day."

Ricky stops walking and stares at me

"She what!?"

"Yeah I mean she was trying to be all tough and rude so I cornered her a bit and told her I knew she wanted me to kiss her and she almost did."

He looks at me with stunned eyes so I keep talking

"Im figuring her out. She's good at pushing me or sending me off to hell but she can't flirt or talk when I'm coming on to her so I'm just having a bit of fun."

Ricky rolls his eyes but starts laughing

"I remember when we were in 7th grade Parker Owens asked her out and she threw up on his shoes!"

He's laughing now and I just listen

"It was hilarious she can't be around the male population to save her life. She has that tough thing going, no one really tries anymore because she's defensive about everything."

I laugh

"Anyway she probably likes you for some insane reason so just stay away okay? The last thing she needs is someone messing with her."

I just shrug

"What if I like her back?"

He shoves me

"But you don't. In the short time I've know  you I've learned one thing. If you want something you go and get it. You take Aubree as entertaining cus she's attractive and she cusses at you. If you wanted her you'd have her by now, you strike me as that type."

He laughs, winks and walks towards his car. So much confidence in his statement

He was right, I liked toying with her and I wasn't trying to get her to marry me or any of that shit

I was attracted to her, 100% so what if I wasn't trying to get in a relationship, maybe she wanted someone to mess around with too

We could help each other out. I wasn't gonna back off, especially now that I knew she was attracted to me.

The next day at practice she stands with the coaches as we run drills.

I get a bit competitive when we're playing against each other and catch her staring at me a few times.

When practice is over I take my shirt off and walk towards her. I can see her squirming all the way from here and I try not to laugh
