Aubree POV
I'm walking to class when I feel someone brush up next to me, I look up to find Micah.
"Hey Aubree, how's it going?"
"Fairly well, thank you. How are you?"
Why do I sound so formal? Do I sound too formal? Shit I sound too formal.
"Good thanks, you don't mind me tagging along with u to class do you?"
"I do actually."
I try to keep a neutral face.
"Oh..ok shit sorry I didn't mean t-"
I cut him off laughing
"Micah, relax I'm only kidding. It's fine."
"Oh"
He laughs and rubs the back of his neck nervously.
We pass by an art room where a few girls stare him up and down with no shame.
He turns to look at me and laughs
"Why are you rolling your eyes?"
"What, I'm not rolling my eyes uh..YOURE rolling your eyes."
He looks at me like I'm insane but smirks
"If you say so Andrews."
We make it to class and he takes his place next to Chloe while I go to my usual spot a few rows down.
I think that's the first time I've ever talked to Micah without giving him a nasty look or telling him to fuck off.
Well would you look at that, I know how to make friends mom!"
The day goes by fairly quick and next thing I know I'm walking out of my last class.
As soon as I do I want to run back inside, leaning against the wall is Eli.
I try to tell myself he's not waiting for me but stand corrected when he looks up, spots me and heads over.
"Hey Bree, can we talk?"
I sigh, annoyed
"How many times do I have to tell you we have nothing to talk about?"
"It's not about us! I wanna know what coach said about me." He explains
"What? Coach didn't tell me anything. Not about you anyway."
I wonder what in the hell he's going on about.
"Yeah right, you came in when coach called me to his office. I'm not stupid."
"Correction, you ARE stupid, very stupid. Coach didn't say shit. Are we done?"
"If you think you're doing me a favor by not telling me, you're wrong. You can just tell me what he said."
"Elijah. I know you need the daily reminder but not everything revolves around you."
He steps closer and waves a finger in my face.
"Well it used to, just in case YOU need the reminder. You couldn't go a day without seeing me. You would call, you would text, only to cry and complain about the same shit over and over again! You think anyone else will put up with that?! I've seen Adams walking you to class, you think he will!? You're a stuck up prude and I shouldn't have wasted my time on you!"
