what's happening?
annabeth and percy go shopping for the first time with their baby, cole.

"Annabeth," Percy whispers into his wife's ear as Annabeth picks up Cole in her arms and rests him on her hip, "can you help me?"

Rolling her eyes and sighing, Annabeth places Cole back onto the trolly and turns to Percy, who was looking heavily distressed. He was currently holding two different sizes of diapers with a perplexed expression on his face.

As his eyes switched back and forth from the two, he murmured, "Was it one? No wait, it was three. I'm sure it was three, right?" Percy then spins around to face Annabeth and shoves the diapers into her face, "Right?"

Instead of answering, she raised an eyebrow at him. He had been — and still is — been nervous ever since Cole was brought into the world. Annabeth sighed and giving him a small kiss on the lips, "You're a great dad, and you're doing amazing anyway." I assured him, I put a hand pn his cheek and smiled, "You've been so supportive I don't know how I could thank you." Annabeth said before kissing him for about five seconds.

Annabeth broke the kiss and Percy smirked, "I know a couple ways you could thank me." he said, wiggling his eyebrows.

Annabeth shook her head and laughed, pushing the cart to another isle of the store.

They arrived to where all the clothes were and Percy got excited. Annabeth looked at him weirdly but he just chuckled and went out searching.

Annabeth smiled after him and picked up Luke, "You ready to pick out some clothes?" she asked him.

Luke put a hand on Annabeth's face and dragged it all the way down to her chin, causing her to laugh and head out to look for some clothes.

When she came across Percy, his eyebrows were scrunched up together in determination for picking out clothes for look.

"Percy watch the cart." Annabeth called after him, he looked up and nodded.

Annabeth headed out and picked out some clothes when she came across two that looked the same except for the text on the clothing. One said 'Handsome' while the other said 'Irresistible'.

Annabeth looked at Luke, "What do you think? I feel like it suits your dad more though." Annabeth laughed, making her way back to the cart.

When she got back, her eyes widened. The cart was full with clothes, and Percy was smiling proudly.

Annabeth walked up to him and gave him a look, "We can't buy all of this!" Annabeth whisper-shouted at him, "You're going to have to put some back."

Percy frowned, "Why?"

"Percy, we don't have enough money on us!" Annabeth said, putting Luke back in his car seat.

Percy groaned in protest, "Fine."

He picked up about twenty and walked back to where he came from. Annabeth picked up another one and glared at him when he came back, "Really Percy, really?!" Annabeth asked him pointing at the text on the shirt.

Percy smirked, "I quite like that one actually."

It read 'Daddy is better'.

Annabeth stared at him and shoved it into his arms, "Why did I marry this woman!?" Percy groaned while walking off to put it back.

We were left with about twenty peices of clothing for Luke.

But, when Annabeth and Percy were about to leave the baby area, Luke started crying.

Annabeth quickly looked around for his baby bag, it wasn't there.

"Oh Gods," Annabeth said, "I left it in the car!" she groaned. "I'm going to go get it really quickly okay Perce?" Annabeth said in a rush. But before her husband could reply, she dashed off.

Percy shrugged and scooped his son in his arms, "I guess it's just you and me now huh buddy?" Percy asked Luke but cried louder. Percy hesitated for a second but decided fo take matters into his own hands. He put Luke back down and moved the cart.

When Annabeth came back, the cart was no where to be seen. Annabeth panicked and began to search for him.

She looked all around the large store for thirty minutes until she arrived at the dressing room.

She checked every stall until she came across the last one. Annabeth opened the door, and there they were.

Percy and Luke were playing on the ground. Luke was giggling like mad and Percy was smiling.

Percy looked up and grinned, "Hey."

Annabeth smiled softly and sat down next to him, closing the door behind her.

She sat criss-crossed by Percy and laid her head on his shoulder.

"Thank you." Annabeth said.

"For what? I'm his dad you know I'd do anything for the little tyke." Percy said, picking up the 'still giggling like mad' Luke.

Percy laughed and gave hime to Annabeth, but she shook her head. "You carry him, you are his dad after all." Annabeth said.

Percy grinned and felt a bubbly feeling in stomach that made him want to jump up in the air and yell happily.

But Percy didn't jump up into the air or yell anything. He just smiled and kissed Annabeth, because he knew, he knew, that he was ready to start a family with the love of his life. And everything didn't seem so shakey anymore.
