20 | kissing day

what's happening?
- as everyone at camp is celebrating the international 'kissing day' jovially, percy can't seem to get annabeth to do the same with him -

Percy was dreading today, just like he would be for the rest of the week. He saw Jason give Piper flowers another hour ago and Travis kiss Katie. Then don't even get him started on Will and Nico.

It was Kissing Day, and Percy hadn't got at least one kiss.

He regretted living, but that's pretty much normal for the life of a demigod. He hated himself for doing that stunt last week and he wanted Piper to charmspeak him into jumping off the Argo II.

Percy decided it was a great idea to hide all of Annabeth's blueprints in the ocean (while making it not get wet from his powers of course), and he had a good reason for it! He wanted to have a romantic date with her, having her no stress or anger, so he hid them, the most stress-bringing things that could ever bring Annabeth. But the thing is, Annabeth had an important meeting in Olympus that day and had to cancel the date so she went looking for it. Percy tried persuading her but she wasn't having any of it, so when Percy told her he hid them, she got angry of course but that was normal. But when Percy arrived to the sea, all her blueprints were soaking wet, he tried drying them but everything was ruined by the time they got there.

Long story short Annabeth banned any affection-type-stuff for two weeks and he got a long, long lecture from her.

Percy flopped down on the camp ground and closed his eyes, trying to calm himself.

"You okay?" said a voice from above him. It was Jason.

"No." Percy groaned, his eyes still shut as the sun's warmth settled on his eyelids and face.

"Where's Annabeth?" Jason asked, Percy opened one of his eyes and looked at him as Jason stood over him. "How am I supposed to know?" Percy said gloomily, closing the one eye.

"I mean, aren't you guys together? Or did I miss something...? Wait — Oh my gods, Percy — "

"We're fine." Percy muttered, tilting his head to the side so his cheek touched the ground.

Percy then heard Jason sigh as if weary, "What happend this time?"

"You kinda deserve it." Jason confessed in a slight sing-song voice. Percy had told him the whole story and the two of them were now sitting on a bench next to Thalia's tree.

Burying his face in his hands, Percy said, "Shut up will you? I already know I do, I haven't seen her since this morning when she gave me the stiffest nod ever."

Jason laughed and Percy shot a glare at him, "Go talk to her, doesn't that always work?" he told Percy.

"I guess, but I'm not really for that." Percy admitted. Jason gave him a curious look, "Well then what do you do most of the time?"

Percy blushed, rubbing his hand to the nape of his neck, "Ah, well..."

Jason let out a laugh, "Just go talk to her, or be all romantic and stuff." Jason said. Percy looked at Jason like her was crazy, "Do you know what happened to me the last time I tried to be romantic?"

"Just go."

Percy nodded lazily, "Okay, thanks bro."

"No problem bro."

"Percy, if you're asking for a kiss, you're not getting one." Annabeth said as soon as Percy opened the door.

He closed the door behind him, "Annabeth – "

"No Percy, I'm still mad at you, get out of my cabin."

"But – "

"No."

"Annabeth please ju – "

"Get out, I have to draw all of these blueprints all over again because of you." Annabeth said, annoyed and angry.

Percy sighed and walked out the door, muttering about how unfair she was being.

But Percy was persistent, he was going to get that kiss from her.

Percy was frustrated.

He'd done so many things that would make her kiss him naturally on a normal day, but Annabeth was not up for it. Maybe I should just give up, he thought miserably.

He'd tried with a mistletoe, (which was really hard to find since it was in the middle of July) he tried little romantic notes but she ended up throwing them all away and he even set up a scavenger hunt for her but she just ignored it.

It was almost night and Percy felt like he was forever alone, he was always able get a kiss from her when he got these kinds of punishments, but now he felt hopeless. He went to go sit on his bunk and decided he was going to sleep really early today since the rest of the day was going to be sad anyway.

Then he heard a knock on the door. Though he just figured it was Jason checking if he was okay.

"Go away." He said into his pillow.

"Open it up, Seaweed Brain."

Percy jumped up from his bed like the flash, he walked to his door and opened it, finding Annabeth standing there with her arms crossed and looking at him as if unimpressed.

"You going to let me in?" Annabeth asked, Percy nodded and closed the door behind her as she walked in.

"You do know you're trying too hard right?" Annabeth told him as soon as the door closed.

Percy gave her a weak smile, "I'm still mad at you by the way." she reminded.

Percy groaned, "Yeah well... I'm mad at you too..."

Annabeth rolled her eyes and laughed quietly, "I just came here to tell you something."

Percy nodded at her, "Yes?"

Annabeth took a step towards Percy and circled her arms around Percy's neck. Percy immediately relaxed at her touch, making Annabeth smile softly.

Lifting her head, Annabeth then gently kissed Percy. Percy sighed into the kiss, relief flooding through him.

Except, before Percy could engage a little more, Annabeth pulled away from his hold making Percy frown.

"See you later, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth quickly said before bolting out the door, grinning evilly as she went.

Percy stood there for a good amount of seconds, his eyebrows drawn and his eyes widened a bit. Although after a while, he smiled too.

He could of sworn he heard her let out a laugh while running.
