Chapter 13

Almost 4 weeks have passed since the day Ash first rode Rogan and boy have things been busy. Mr Meyers arrived back on our ranch a few days later and after I told him the good news then almost immediately the filming picked up. More actors and actresses were flown in for a few days of filming then just as quickly as they appeared they would leave again. Filming times changed practically every day and sometimes I woke up to the sound of Mr Meyers shouting "Reset!". It certainly has been an interesting experience I can tell you that.

During that time I spent many hours watching scenes that involved Rogan, just to make sure that nothing was going wrong or that he was about to spook. We haven't been able to have any lessons here at all which has made things slightly harder for us. We have no money coming in therefore no money to put towards buying food for the horses or for us. My brothers and I have tried to help out as much as we can, dipping into our savings. It's worth it if we get to keep the ranch.

Summer's starting to come to an end and that means that Joel, Louis and Adrian will be off to university in the autumn. It'll just be my mother and me and Lochlan. Don't get me wrong, the quiet will be nice but it will take a bit of getting used to. Not to mention the fact that Tamsin will be away at university too and that means I won't get to see her that often either. I'm not really looking forward to when they all go because I'm going to miss them.

I am brought out of my thoughts by Mr Meyers yelling, "Cut! And that's a wrap. Good job everybody."

There's an eruption of cheers from around me and I can't help but smile at everything. I look over at Ashton as he pats Ebony's neck with a grin. He's been nicer these past few weeks and we've spent time together when he isn't filming to talk about my father and our pasts. It's been good.

"Alright everybody listen up! It's the 1st of August, next session begins on the 1st of October, back in the studios. Enjoy your time off and it's time to pack up!" Mr Meyers announces once more.

I head over towards Ashton and Ebony as the crowd starts to break apart. He looks up at my arrival, "Hey you." He grins at me.

"Hey," I reply with a smile, "It's all over."

He nods as we make our way, with Ebony, back into the barn, "Yes it is. It's been a long month but worth it. I'm looking forward to going home."

"I bet Natalie will be happy to see you." I reply and see him frown a little, "Sorry, did I say something wrong?" I ask.

He shakes his head, "No you didn't. I am just not sure that she'll be all that happy to see me."

"Oh?" I say and raise an eyebrow.

He nods, "Yeah, we had a small argument last night when she called. So I'm not too sure how happy she will be when she sees me."

I nod my head as we reach Ebony's stall. "Here, I'll untack her." I say and reach for her reins.

I hear him chuckle and I look up as he shakes his head, "Don't worry about it, I got it."

I smile back at him and step away from the stall as he untacks her. I watch him as he carries the saddle and bridle out and heads down the barn, into the tack room. I finally step forward and shut the door over to Ebony's stall and lock it.

"So, I'm planning on taking your entire family out for dinner tonight." Ashton calls out from behind me as he leaves the tack room.

I raise another eyebrow at him, "Really? Why would you want to do that?"

He chuckles and nods his head in the direction of the door, "Because I want to say thank you to your family for putting up with all of this over the last month."
