Chapter 16

I groan and run my hand through my hair as I ignore her. "Don't ignore me." She says, "You know you like him, please just ask him out or I'll do it for you."

I turn my attention back to her, "Please don't. I don't like him like that Tamsin."

I watch her as she leans back in her chair with a sigh, "You know you are so frustrating sometimes. You also know that you like him but you won't admit it."

I roll my eyes at her, "Like I have said a million times before, I don't like him like that. Now can we please drop the subject." I ask.

She nods her head once before shifting her weight, "Fine, how's the ranch."

"It's doing better than last year. Word has spread round that our ranch was used for a film so a lot more kids want to take lessons here. Plus the money from the movie has helped us out a lot too. We're not struggling as much anymore." I reply, "There is only one thing wrong."

"What?" She asks.

"It's kind of lonely."

She straightens up in her seat, "What do you mean? You've got your mother and all those horses to keep you company."

"Yeah but none of my brothers are here and I kind of miss them, even Adrian." I reply with a sigh, "I mean I'm a twin, I've never been on my own without him."

She gives me a small smile, "If it helps I miss him too."

I return the smile to her, "How is it going between you two anyway?"

"Good. Well as good as it can be with being so far away from each other."

I give her a small smile, I know from previous conversations that being so far away from him has been a lot tougher on her than she expected, "Have you guys talked about the next time you'll see each other?" I ask.

"Yeah," She says with a sigh, "It won't be for a while. I thought I was going to be able to see him at Christmas but my parents just told me that they are flying out here."

I watch as she pulls her knees to her chest and rests her head on them, "At least you get to spend Christmas in New York, most people would kill for that." I say, "And don't worry about not seeing Adrian, I'm sure you'll see each other soon." She nods her head without saying anything still wrapped up in her thoughts. I look up to the door just to see Collette arrive, "Look Tammy, I need to go, talk to you later?" I ask. She replies with a yes before we make our quick goodbyes and I shut the computer off and turn my attention to Collette.

She gives me a small smile as she pulls her long red hair into a ponytail. "Hi." She says softly.

"Hey, what's up?" I ask her.

She shrugs as she enters the room, "Not much I was just wondering if both me and Joe can take off now, we have an essay due on Monday and I don't think that we have put in enough time as we probably should have."

I nod my head, "Sure don't worry about it in the slightest. I understand, don't worry I will take care of the horse you guys go home."

"Thanks Alexis! You're the best!" She grins as she dashes off to tell her brother the good news leaving me alone once again. I let out a sigh before getting up to go and feed Rogan. I can already tell this is going to be a long day.

The vibration of my phone on the table is enough to make me jump; startling me out of the thoughts I had been lost in only moments before. I cast a glance to my phone before reaching over to pick it up. Ash's name flashes onto the screen and I feel that same feeling of butterflies in my stomach that I got that night we all were at dinner.
