The demon had forgotten all about the couple making out beside him, as he stared at the angel with a shocked expression.
"What did you just say?" He whispers in a low voice.
"I said. I love you." Adam smiles.
"Are you joking with me? Cause I don't like it when people jokes with me about something so serious. And this is some serious sh*t." Tim says. "Out of no where to tell me you love me and I didn't even think you liked me. Cause sometimes you act like you don't like me. And it really gets confusing." He stops talking when Adam starts to laugh. "Just what are you laughing at. Are you laughing at me. Cause I don't like it when people laughs..."
He's stopped by Adam crashing his lips against his. Adam breaks the kiss, leaving Tim breathless.
"That shut you up, didn't it." Adam laughs.
"I'm being serious, Adam." Tim says, rolling off of the angel and sitting up on the side of the bed.
Adam reaches up and gently runs his hand over Tim's scarred back.
"I meant what I said. I have fallen in love with you. I didn't think I could love anyone other than Austin, but I do." Adam says as he raises up and places a soft kiss on Tim's bare shoulder.
"I love you too." Tim whispers. "I have from the first minute I laid eyes on you. But I, never in a million years ever thought that you would love me back."
The spirits look around as the young couple gets up from the bed.
"So we're taking it?" The young lady ask.
"Yep, it's perfect." The guy says as they leave the room to talk with the landlord.
"Well, I guess that means we're homeless again." Tim chuckles.
"Don't worry. We'll find something else." Adam smiles as he puts on his clothes. "Uh, Tim?"
"Yea?" Tim responds as he starts to get dressed.
"Uh, where's my book?" Adam ask, frantically looking around.
"I don't know. Last time I saw it was in the park, when you showed me Jenika's picture." Tim says as he reaches for his jacket hanging on the chair. "Maybe you left it there."
"I'm sure I put it back in my pocket." Adam says, searching his pockets again.
"Uh." Tim says as he reaches into his jacket pocket to find no book. But breathes a sigh of relief to see his book laying on the floor. "Oh, never mind. I thought mine was gone too, but here it is on the floor. How did it fall out of my pocket when my jacket is hanging up?"
"Who knows. But we need to get to the park to see if I did leave my book there." Adam says as he slips on his boots.
"It's not like anyone walking in the park can see it and take it." Tim says, heading to the door.
"Other angels and demons can." Adam says following him out of the apartment, passing the new tenants on their way out.
They ran the whole way back to the park. They begin to look around the tree they had been sitting at.
"I don't see it." Tim says as he looks around on the ground.
"Well, keep looking. I've got to find it." Adam says, his eyes scanning over the park.
Tim walks around the tree when he thinks he hears something.
"Hey, Babe? Did you just laugh?" Tim ask as he came from behind the tree. He was wondering what Adam found so humorous about losing his book.
"Now why on earth would I be laughing, I've lost my book." Adam says, putting his hands on his hips.
"I swear, I just heard...." He stops and glances nervously around them.
"You heard what?" Adam ask as he notice Tim's odd behavior.
"I heard someone laugh. It was so clear that I thought it was you." Tim says, his eyes searching the trees around them.
"Honey, we are in a park. There's children playing everywhere." Adam says as he begins his search again for his lost book.
"No Adam, it sounded like it was right beside me. It sounded like a man's laugh. That's why I thought it was you." Tim says as he walks up to the angel but keeps looking over his shoulder at the woods.
"Well, it wasn't me. Come on. We have to find that book." Adam says as he starts walking away.
"Does your pocket have a hole in it?" Tim ask as he hurries to catch up with the fast walking angel.
"No it doesn't have a hole in it." Adam says, slowing up to give the demon time to catch up.
"Well how did it get out of your pocket then?" Tim ask as he finally catches up with Adam. "It's not like you would just leave it laying around. That sounds like something I would do. You think another spirit found it and picked it up?"
"Tim, Honey, I. Don't. Know." Adam says sounding a little annoyed.
"No reason to get all snotty with me. I didn't take it." Tim says in a pouting manner.
Adam smiles and brushes Tim's hair back behind his ear. "I'm sorry, I know you didn't take it. But we have to find it."
"After we left here, we went to the school. Maybe it fell out of your pocket there." Tim shrugs.
"That's right, I forgot about that. It probably fell out of my pocket while I was sitting on that bench." Adam says as he grabs Tim's hand and heads for the school.
Neither the angel or the demon notice the spirit looking around a tree, grinning like the Cheshire cat.
"This is so much fun." He giggles.
