Percy had gotten exactly what he wanted. School was boring.

English had been a snooze. The only thing that made it even somewhat interesting was the fact that Puck actually snored as he slept through class. Kurt and Mercedes gossiped about people Percy had never met before.

Percy's second class had been Chemistry. At first, he had been slightly concerned at the possibility of actually setting something on fire, but instead all they did was watch boring, mandatory safety videos for an hour and then take a quiz on them. He had struggled a little to read and understand many of the questions but in the end he thought he did okay. Puck, Kurt, and Mercedes weren't in this class, which actually saddened him a little. Instead he sat in the only empty seat next to a boy in a wheel chair. He never caught his name but he had seemed kind enough.

When Chemistry was over Percy walked through the halls in search of the cafeteria for lunch. He turned a corner and then stopped. At the end of the hall was Quinn. She walked down the hall, completely oblivious to the fact that she turned everyone's head as she passed them. Puck was amongst the many people in the hallway but Percy couldn't quite read his expression. Quinn smiled slightly when she saw Percy ahead of her. She walked over to him and threw an arm around his shoulders. Without a word she led him towards the cafeteria.

When they reached the line for lunch, Quinn finally spoke. "Sorry, but I'm not going to eat lunch with you today. I have to go do something."

Percy looked at her for a moment before he said anything. She had the faint spell of smoke on her clothes. "You're not avoiding me for some reason are you?"

She smiled softly. "No, I promise. That's not it at all." She looked up and down the hall before looking back at Percy. "I'll see you after school. Don't walk home, I'll drive you." With that she turned and walked down the halls again, leaving Percy all to himself.

Percy had no idea what to make of her any more. She had been nothing but nice and friendly the past two days. Now it was as if she was a completely different person.

Percy went through the lunch line, grabbed a slice of pizza, and then entered the cafeteria. He glanced over the crowded room and searched for an empty table, only to jump when he felt a hand drop down on his shoulder. He turned and found it was Puck standing behind him. He had a small smile fixed upon his face.

"You're eating with us." He said in a matter of fact tone. When Percy didn't move Puck's smile grew. "Please?"

It was the sarcastic begging that softened Percy's resolve. He nodded and motioned for Puck to lead the way. As they walked, they passed the pale afro kid who was this time interviewing two girls in cheerleader outfits. Percy couldn't figure out what was going on with that kid.

Puck led him to an empty table in a back corner of the room. They sat down a crossed from each other and were silent for a moment. Percy couldn't help but ask what had been bothering him. "What's with the kid and the camera crew?"

Puck glanced over at the scene and laughed. "His name's Jacob. He's a perverted whack job. He writes gossip articles on a blog, and today he's been trying to interview as many seniors as he can, asking about their future plans."

Percy nodded in understanding. "Has he cornered you yet?"

Puck nodded. "Yep, but I threatened to break his nose." Percy laughed a little at the other boy's words. He found he rather liked the current company he was in.

"Hey Puck. Scaring another newbie?" A cheerleader with brunette hair said as she sat down beside the mo-hawked boy. A blonde girl who was also in a cheer uniform followed behind her and sat next to Percy. Upon further inspection, Percy realized that they were the girls that had just been interrogated by Jacob.

"Please, I'm as innocent as it gets." Puck said with a smirk plastered on his face. The brunette beside him laughed loudly.

"Sure. If you say so." She then turned her attention towards Percy. Her eyes swept over his body only to stop when they reached his face. "What's your name cutie?"

Percy smiled softly at the use of the nickname. While she was definitely considered pretty, she was nothing compared to his Wise-girl. "Percy. What about you beautiful?"

She smiled darkly. "Santana. This is my friend Brittany." Percy nodded and smiled at the blonde girl beside him too. His attention was stolen away when Kurt and Mercedes walked over and joined their table.

"Hi Percy." Kurt said cheerfully as he sat on Percy's other side.

"Hey, what's up Kurt?" Percy said easily. He liked the little circle of friends he had found himself in. While they looked like they should be natural rivals, they all seemed to fit somehow much like a jig-saw puzzle with no corners.

Kurt sighed a little. "College troubles, but don't worry about it. How has your first day been?"

Percy shrugged a little. "Boring, but I guess it's still by far the most successful first day I've ever had." At all of the confused glances, Percy tried to explain himself. "I've gone to many schools, most of them being boarding schools. I don't usually last longer than the first day."

"Why not?" Mercedes asked politely. It was clear she didn't want to overstep. Percy had everyone's attention at the table.

"Different reasons." Percy decided to settle on after a moment of thought. It didn't really answer her question but at least it was something. He was happy when no one pestered him for more information. After that, they all seemed to delve into their own conversations. Brittany and Santana talked about cheerios. Percy was confused as to why cereal was so important. Kurt talked to Mercedes about relationship stuff. Percy caught the name Blaine being mentioned many times. A crossed from him, Puck seemed to do nothing but stare at Percy. When Percy caught his eyes, Puck spoke aloud his thoughts.

"What do you know about Quinn?" He said quietly. The conversations continued around them.

"What do you mean?" Percy asked slightly confused.

"Just, what do you know about her? Did you know her before you moved here?" He seemed almost desperate for answers.

"No, I didn't know her before the move. My family and I are actually staying at her and her mom's house for the time being. My mom doesn't have a job right now and my Step-dad is a teacher. I'm betting he'll look into getting a job here." Percy tried to explain his situation as best he could without giving away anything too important. Percy felt that anything not of common knowledge didn't necessarily need to be shared.

Puck nodded slightly. It was clear that Percy didn't know too much, or at all for that matter about the girl in question.

Lunch continued on with many laughs and witty banter. Percy was sad when the bell rang again, signaling the end of lunch and the start of more classes. Percy cast a look at his schedule once more.

"Hey Kurt, where's the gym?" He spoke aloud as everyone around him packed up the rest of their things. Beside him, Kurt smiled widely.

"I'll show you. Puck and I have gym next too." Kurt wrapped his arm around Percy's shoulder as he guided him out the cafeteria doors and down the hall. Puck trailed after them.
