Merry Christmas, Darling

A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she shut the door to her apartment. Nearly collapsing against it, she forced herself to stagger to the kitchen, only to groan when she saw the mess of her living room.

The Christmas tree that she had put up with much difficulty was hanging halfway between standing and being flattened against the floor. The only connection keeping it intact was a single chord from a strand of lights. Needles were strewn across the floor, and a glass of milk was spilled among the mess.

Having a very clear idea of who it could have been, she sluggishly cleaned the mess, nearly being crushed by the tree multiple times.

Once that was done, she entered her bedroom, unable to keep a smile from appearing on her face. Jungkook's soft tail was peeking out from under the bed, swaying ever so slightly. Even though it had only been a month since she adopted her hybrid boyfriend, she couldn't help falling deeper and deeper in love.

He must have been startled by the tree falling, and hid under the bed.

This was evident when she lay down on her stomach to see him, only to see him covering his face and shaking in fear.

"Hey, baby," she cooed, trying to coax him out of his hiding place. He slowly uncovered his face, irises small as he moved backwards unconsciously.

A small laugh escaped her and she held out her hand patiently.

"Don't worry, nothing was broken and everything Is cleaned up."

Pure, unadulterated relief flooded his features, and he smiled shyly. She pulled gently on his hand, scooting back to let him emerge from the bed.

He immediately curled into her arms, while she sat cross legged. Laughing, his owner pet his hair, and it wasn't long before low purrs filled the room.

"Do you want to help me decorate the tree?"

He looked at her, nodding his head frantically. Excitement danced in his eyes, and she couldn't help but be infected by it.

His tail wrapped around her forearm while he tugged her towards the living room, where they sat carefully Placing the ornaments on the branches.

After about midnight, when Jungkook was curled up soundly in her lap on the couch while sipping a cup of hot chocolate, she carded her hands through his hair in an addictive manner.

She pressed a soft kiss onto his hair, and he giggled, turning to face her and press a kiss onto her nose.

She kissed his cheeks, and his forehead, and his nose, (his adorable, adorable nose) and finally his lips, while he didn't bother to conceal his joyful laughter.

"What was that for?" He asked shyly when she was done.

She only smiled, tugging him close.

Ever since she had found him abandoned in that back alley nearly freezing to death, a strong sense of protectiveness came over her whenever she was with him.

She grabbed his hand, playing with the slightly chubby fingers.

"Its because,"

She paused, staring up into his eyes.

"Its because you're beautiful, Jungkook, and I'm so glad you came into my life."

He blushed, hiding his face in her shoulder.

"You don't have to say things like that," he whispered, and as he shifted, his collar moved to reveal evidence of past abuse, from his previous masters.

A soft sigh escaped her, and she reached a hand up to rub at a particularly prominent scar at the base of his neck. He shivered, and leaned into the touch.

And when he looked at her again, face illuminated by the Christmas tree lights, she couldn't help but think he was just about the most precious and important being on the earth. And when she voiced it, a small smile overtook his features. It grew and grew, until his adorable teeth were sticking out, and his eyes were crinkled at the corners.

"I..." she started, trailing off.

He peered at her curiously from under his lashes, and her resolve crumbled. Reaching into the pocket of her hoodie, she pulled out a small black box, similar to that of a watch.

But Jungkook knew exactly what it was. His breath hitched and tears formed at the corners of his eyes as she opened the box.

"Jungkook, I wasn't planning on getting a hybrid. I'm being honest."

His face fell slightly, and she silently promised to never make him cry.

"But when I found you, it was like my whole world changed."

The hybrid's eyes filled with hope, and a stray tear streaked down his cheek.

"I was going to wait until Christmas day to give you this, but...I couldn't wait to call you mine."

And as she held the simple black leather collar in her palms, Jungkook let out a sob. Tears streamed down his face as he reached out to gently touch the silver tag with his name on it. With her name on it.

Jungkook was hers. She was his. He finally belonged.

"Merry Christmas Jungkookie," she murmured as she fastened the buckle around his neck, making sure it wasn't too tight.

His ears twitched when the cold metal rested on his collarbone, and she smiled adoringly at him.

He hugged her, burying his face in her shoulder. She held him back, laughing.

"Don't cry, my Jungkookie."

My Jungkookie.
