the handcuffs around her wrists really weren't that effective.

she could easily slip her hands out at any moment, but two things kept her from doing that.

1) she was scared out of her mind and oh, god, tomorrow is a school day what if she's kicked out of uni she has an essay due tomorrow morning??

2) the young police officer who had caught her was insanely handsome and she wanted to get into his p-

"please wait here," he said with a soft smile, gently leading her to a hard plastic chair in front of a desk.

the police station was quiet for this time of night, the only activity being a couple drunkards stumbling into walls and a couple men in blue lounging at their desks, donuts dunked in coffee.

she tapped her feet nervously on the ground, picking at her fingers anxiously.

vaguely, she wondered if her mascara was smeared and if her lip tint was still intact.

he smiled reassuringly at her, tapping some things away at his computer.

he got a call, walking away to receive it. when he came back, he was chuckling and shaking his head.

"did you buy milk tonight?"

she flinched when his voice broke the silence, and when she finally got to meet his eyes they were kind and sympathetic. it was hard to look away.
she nodded subtly and bit her lip, worry making her silent.

"can i get you water? a coffee? i think we have some leftover donuts if you want some- the coconut ones are my favorite." he winked at her as he said this, causing her to blush.

"some water would be great," she croaked.

he left and returned a few seconds later, settling at his desk with a small smirk on his lips.

god, he was gorgeous. she kept staring at his jaw line, wanting to run her fingers along it. his hair was a bit long, dark bangs constantly falling into his eyes but she thought it was endearing.

"don't worry, you're not in trouble. nothing that would go on your transcript anyways. i heard you were just hanging out at the wrong place in the wrong time."

the blush spread to her ears and she nodded.

and it really was a mistake that she was arrested; she just happens to react badly in stressful situations.

she had gone out to the corner convenience store that she frequented often, needing milk. there had been a thief, the handsome police man, and the ahjumma yelling for help to have the perpetrator run out, shoving the stolen goods into her hands, and then the police man arriving upon a very compromising scene.

the ahjumma had called, apparently, advocating for her innocence and she sighed in relief, glad nothing would happen to her.

"im sorry for the misunderstanding," he apologized, eyes soft and genuine, and holy mother of god where was her decency she couldn't stop thinking about how soft his lips looked and how nice his skin tone was, even under this disgusting fluorescent lighting.

she only nodded dumbly and he smiled widely, bunny teeth making an appearance.

she was screwed. so freaking screwed. she wanted to die.

"you're cute," he said later, as he walked her to the door.

"cute enough to get your number?" she blurted, immediately covering her mouth.

he froze and then laughed loudly, and when his eyes met hers again they held what she hoped was amusement and maybe something more?

he ruffled her hair and grinned that horribly boyish lopsided grin of his, and her stomach swooped.
