Jungkook couldn't bring himself to look up, even when her feet stopped right in front of him.

He stared at her shoes; they were black and shiny and new. He wondered if she was married yet.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, voice breaking in the middle.

He finally lifted his eyes, meeting her teary ones.

"I... I-" he waved his hands a bit, trying to come up with something, anything, that could make him look less pathetic.

"I'm sorry," he finally whimpered, voice cracking.

"No."

He glanced up sharply at her harsh tone, surprised.

"What in hell do you have to be sorry about?"

She stepped closer, wrapping her arms around his neck softly.

"No, baby. You did nothing wrong."

He pushed away the guilt he felt when he felt her father's eyes on him and embraced her, pressing his nose into her neck and inhaling deeply.

He could be selfish just this once.

She stepped away and wiped away tears, and God, she looked exactly the same as when he had last seen her, all those years ago.

"Baby?" His mumble came out watery and he found himself wincing.

She only smiled, placing a hand on his cheek and taking his broken hand in her other.

Her gaze landed on his cast and she rubbed it with her thumb, a sad sort of smile on her face.

"How short are you?"

It took him a few moments to process the question, and after counting the bills in his cap, he sighed gently.

"'Bout $1.50."

Without hesitation she opened her wallet, pressing a bill into the cap.

"Go buy yourself a new coat, okay? It's going to be cold and I... Can't be there to take care of you."

She glanced over her shoulder, to where her father stared at them with an unreadable look.

"Be safe, okay?"

He nodded, smiling softly.

"Thank you."

"I got you a fight."

Yokngi looked grimly at the ground, scuffing his polished shoe in the dirt.

Jungkook chuckled, flexing his long- healed hand.

"Haha, go to hell."
