Pt. 2/2 of 'Paradise'

"Stay still," she commanded, not daring to break eye contact with the perpetrator in front of her.
The crowd of people was silent, all holding one large, bated breath. The wind whistled softly, and in the distance, you could hear the sirens desperately trying to reach her in time.
"You don't have to do this," she continued, voice wavering a bit. The man stared at her, hand shaking as he nudged the gun closer to her forehead- almost hesitant.
Almost regretful about what he was about to do.
"I- it's you, o- or me," he rasped. His hand tightened on the trigger, and she flinched, closing her eyes automatically.
But nothing happened, and she breathed a soft sigh of relief, tension remaining in her shoulders as the gunman backed away slowly.
It seemed as if he would surrender, when suddenly he snagged the hoodie of the girl next to him, wrapping his arm around her neck and shoving the gun against her temple. A few people screamed, and the young doctor lunged forward on instinct- only stopping herself when the man narrowed his eyes.
The sirens were getting louder as the ambulances neared, and she silently hoped the injured people lying on the ground would somehow survive.
"It's you, or her," he suddenly said.
The man darted a tongue out to wet his cracked lips as she weighed her options.
The captive was surprisingly competent, only letting out soft whimpers every so often when his arm tightened around her neck.
Someone was crying, and she bit her lip in conflict. If she could just stall for a few seconds...
"Hurry!" He commanded, clicking the safety one more time for emphasis.
Too late.
"Take me," she murmured.
The man shoved the other girl away, grasped the sleeve of her white doctor's coat, and pulled her against his chest.
Loud commands and footsteps rang as the policemen finally entered the vicinity, and the sound of them cocking their guns at once was unnerving.
She shuddered as she felt the cold surface of the gun press into her temple, and was able to find enough guts to turn- just slightly.
Just in time to see Jungkook with a team of paramedics loading people away.
Just in time to see him break away from the group, trying to reach her despite the multiple police officers holding him back.
Vaguely, over the sound of her own blood rushing in her ears, she heard him call her name. She suddenly didn't feel the nozzle if the gun, or the criminal's arm around her shoulders- she could only focus on his struggling figure.
"I'm okay," she mouthed.
The gunshot rang throughout the alleyway, alongside Jungkook's broken cries.
