Ashley's pov

Who would've guessed Conor would've been the one to ask out Jackie? Okay me. Conor told me he wanted to because he couldn't hold it in any longer. I'm glad he did it when he did. Honestly the timing couldn't be anymore perfect. I mean, what other way to introduce Jackie to the world other than Conor's girlfriend, yeah it's a little too early to call the shots, but it's obvious. She'll finally get the representation she deserves. I tried to look her up, but hardly anything ever came up, which is odd. I had to look through her opponents losses to find her. The gaming community barely gave her any recognition, most of the articles called her "a lucky amateur". But we know better.

So as it stands, all of us (minus Conor and Jackie) are waiting for the two to come back from the date. Conor finally put his license to good use and drive her around the city. He remembers all the dates she would talk about, as do I, and he told me he wanted it to be different than the rest.

He said something about first taking her to the park, then the beach then finally the board walk.

I figured out Jackie likes walking through scenic areas, and I passed on the message.

Conor's pov

Like I told Ashley and the others, I wanted to take Jackie on a very special date. No part did I want it to feel like she was obligated to go on this date, every step of the way I wanted her to have a say in it just as much as I. But the one thing I didn't tell anyone else, I would take her to the carnival. It was open around this time of year, then ride a couple of rides. At the end of it all, we'll go on the faris wheel.

Jackie's pov

It. Was. Beautiful.

First the walk in the park was breathtaking. Fireflies were starting to come out and we were walking by the lake. It was even prettier when the fireflies were over the water, then as Conor and I were passing by a man selling flowers, Conor stopped us and paid the man for a single rose and a hair clip (yeah I don't know why he was selling them either, he just was). The hair clip was beautiful. the man said it was one of a kind, made from a rare gemstone, not really valued in price. It was a gorgeous Caribean blue with speckles of black and white. He gave it to Conor for free, I don't know why, but I did over hear their conversation. Either "your girlfriend reminds me of my late wife" or "your grilling friend reminds me of my mate mice" [Jackie, you and I both know which one it is, it's obvious, you're smarter than that ]

After the park, he took me to the beach and the boardwalk. The way the moon glistened on the calm waves, it just sent chills over my body.

We continued to walk along the boardwalk, and before I knew it, we were at the carnival. It was stunning. The night lights contrasting against the moonlit sky, I felt as if my soul had been replenished, like any and all of my doubts were washed away.

We had went on a ride called the gravitron, then the Himalaya, and even played some games. Conor had won a giant teddy bear, about the size of me. Luckily, there were straps on it so I could carry it on my back, though Conor insisted on carring it for me. Finally, just when I think the dates over, he pulls me towards the faris wheel.

After we got in, and had stopped at the top, I could see it all. From the school to Billy's, I could see the park, the ocean and even Conor's house. But all through the night, I had neglected to spot the beauty that had been beside my side throught the night, the reason I experienced this night. Conor.

I looked over towards him. His eyes held the same wonderous gaze I held throughout the night. But he wasn't looking at the view, he was looking at me. I felt like a fool. The whole night, I was infatuated with the scenery around us, while Conor was infatuated with me. His gaze left me with the same feeling I had felt when I saw the carnival lights. Renewed. I felt like I finally found the thing that would bring back the light I needed in my dark dark world. He must be the one who gives me my purpose.

I began to lean in, the moment taking over my motions, as did Conor. We were inches apart, millimeters, then fireworks had been set off.

I backed up a bit, to see if he was the cause of it. The look on his face....it melted me and my will to hold back anymore.

I gently cupped his face in my hands and began leaning in. But he removed my hands from his face, and replaced them onto his neck, my fingers intertwined into themselves and his hair. He then cupped his hands on my face and leaned in. The slow paced motion of his head was driving me crazy. He was being so romantic and swave, I wanted him. I needed him.

When our lips finally touched, it was soft, and gental. Our soft lips slipping past one anothers, and all I could feel was the burning sensation that both of us held for each other. His lips, were so sweet, so velvety soft. He licked my bottom lip, pleading for entry. I smiled a bit, letting him in a bit, then opened up for him. It was as if all the beautiful energy and magic that happened tonight, was all wrapped into one, lustful kiss.

When we pulled apart, gasping for air, Conor already had something to say, where as I for once, was speechless, thoughtless. "Jackie, will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?"

"Of course. I wouldn't want anyone else."
