Where the Consoles Lead, The Heart Will Follow

Silence

I was finishing my shift at gamestop waiting for Ashley. I was about to walk out but a big ball of blonde blocked me [that alliteration though :)] then tackled me with the biggest grin ever. Once I was able to stand back up I noticed Wendell and Franklin expecting some hugs as well. After our short reunion, we all decided to head to the park.

"OMG Jackie wth? We haven't heard from you in forever!" Ahsley squealed, "Even Billy hasn't heard from you."

"Oh yeah. About that. We're not talking, and I didn't want you guys to choose sides between Conor and I. I'd figured that it would've made things less awkward." I trailed off towards the end.

"What do you mean? Did something happen between you amd Billy?" Franklin asked with concern covering his face.

"Well you guys know how I don't like others badmouthing my parents, and so did he. But he just did. Saying how he's been a better father providing for me than my parents did, but that made me snap." I looked down at my feet feeling a hint of guilt, he was only trying to help. Still didn't give him reason to talk about them like that.

All they did in response was form an "oh" with their mouths. But something were still tugging me in the back if my mind, something I want to know and want them to know.

"We don't like Conor's girlfriend." Wendell blurted. Ashley hit him upside the head.

"We agreed to say nothing!" Blurted Ashley.

"Look, that's why we wanted to talk to you. Cathy doesn't even like Conor anymore and plans to dump him." Franklin mumbled.

We were all silent for what seemed and probably was ten minutes. "But why is it my problem? I'm about to graduate from both high school and college. I'm moving to Asia."

At least I know how Conor is. And at least they know where I plan on going.

The rest of the time was spent in silence. As I thought about it, maybe I'll stick around until their graduation, its the least I could do. But after that I'm out of here.

So I'm curious. Are these small chapters I've put up good for you guys? Like, are they fulfilling? Becuase a small part of me is saying "fit in more! Its only 300 words!" But at the same time its all that is needed to be said for the time being. So, tell me, was this small chapter good?
