Goodbye

As days went on, I became more and more...depressed. No not like that, more of I don't have any sort of motivation anymore. I really did plan on staying for my friend's graduation, but I don't know if I can last that long. I need change of scenery, that the only thing I can think of to help me in my state.

I decided to text them all to meet up, including Conor but not Cathy. If they're still a thing then I'd assume she would come as a plus one. I had asked them to meet me on the board walk. For what it seems like these will be my last few days in the US

After several minutes Ashley, Wendell, and Franklin arrived, confused as to why I asked them to meet me here.

"I'll explain to guys soon, just wait for Conor" this only confused them even more. "I have news for all of you." I could only stare at the ground.

After about an hour later, Conor's car came into view. As he walked closer, it was clear he just got done either crying or yelling, maybe even both. When he finally reached us, the other three immediately bombarded him with questions. "Omg what happened?" "Have you been crying?" "tell us what happened!"
I on the other hand pushed everyone back towards Conor's car.

As I was pushing them they began questioning what I was doing. I just ignored their questions, grabbed Conor's keys from him, pushed them into Conor's car then drove away.

After some minutes passing of uncomfortable silence, I pulled into Conor's driveway. "Guys, go in, I'll meet you in a minute" I said. Everyone exited the car except Conor. "Okay, you've got two options. Either you tell me what's wrong or you tell them what's wrong." I spoke with a lot of authority. I'm not going to give him any other choice.

"She broke up with me because you texted me and not her."

"Explain" neither of us will look at the other.

"She got really jealous, and suspicious as to why you, my ex, were texting me."

"Can I be honest with you Conor?" I asked finally looking at him. He nodded. "I never liked her. And not just because she stole you away from me, there was always something off about her."

"Yeah" we continued silence for what seemed to be five minutes.

"I'm thinking of leaving for Asia."
"Yeah, the guys told me, after graduation, right?"

"That was the plan...but..." For some reason it was hard for me to say why I needed to leave. When I looked over at Conor he seemed to be lost in thought. "What's on your mind?"

"You're the reason she broke up with me. We were perfectly happy. She was selfconcious, and then you pulled a stunt like that. Why didn't you text her as well?!" He yelled.

"Conor, you're not thinking with your head, she was going to break up with you anyhow. I guess she just took the opportunity when she saw it." I replied in a cold tone.

"What's wrong with you! I'm guessing you knew she had issues about herself and used that to your advantage, didn't you! Why would you make up some outrageous lie?! She wouldn't breakup with me! Is this some attempt with trying to win me back? Is that what you want?" I wasn't looking at him but I cpuld tell just through the corner of my eye. He was the one that's broken now. I can read him so easily. He distraught, he knows what I said was most likely true, he just didn't want to believe it.

"Conor, I only texted to give you guys a notice. What don't you get? I'm. Leaving. Why would I attempt to get you back when I'm about to leave to pursue my dreams? I wanted to stay untill graduation for you guys, but I've lost all motivation. I dont even have the motivation to continue this unnecessary argument. So once your head is clear, once you've figured everything out, and gotten the facts, come and find me. I leave Friday" I replied with a deadly cold tone. I looked over to Conor one last time. He was clearly thinking about what I just said, but still looked just as distraught. "Tell the others when I leave, I'm having a short goodbye party before my flight leaves, it's at 4. I don't want this to be our final goodbye, but if it is then, I guess this will be goodbye. Goodbye Conor, and good luck to your future as a gamer." I walked out.

Conor's Pov

"Why do you do this to me Jackie? Make me feel empty when you need to leave? Why do you make me feel regretful?" Ugh, the guys are probably wondering what's taking so long. I climbed out of the passenger seat of my car, but decided to take one final glance at Jackie's retreating body. "Goodbye Jackie"...
