Jackie's pov
I stared for what seemed like forever, time itself seemed to hault as I grasped the reality of what's happening. Once I've come back to my senses, I calmly ask Maverick and Illjoon for a private conversation in my office. "Guys, feel free to eat as much as you want." I told my...well I don't exactly know what to call them anymore. I closed the door behind the three of us. Only two steps into the walk and I hear what I know was Wendell ranting about the great food.
I closed the door behind us of my office doors, sat mypartners down and sat in my own seat. "Maverick, Illjoon, I'm going to say this as calm as I possibly can. Alright? What the hell?" I unconsciously growled. "Why are they here?"
They realizing that their plan wasn't as great as they probably thought it would have been. "Well...you always talk so fondly of them and-"
"And- they haven't talked to me in four and a half years. Just because I'm found of our memories doesn't mean I wanted to see them again." I realize niw I'm probably over exaggerating the whole situation but... I don't know how to address this. "Look, Conor and I left off on bad terms. I don't exactly feel comfortable working alongside him." I tried in a more calm tone.
"We know, thats why we brought them here." Mumbled Illjoon in Korean. "One, you basically recommended them to us. Second, I think you should talk to that Conor fellow. Give him a second try."
After some silence to think of it, I quickly figured he had a point. "Fine...ugh fine, but not today. I need to mentally prepare myselves for any possible outcome of the confrontation. Why don't you guys show them some hotspots around Seoul after showing them around the office. As for me, I'm talking half a sick day." They thought what I had come to was acceptable amd left. I lead them out, then left the building.
--The next day--
I hardly got any sleep last night as was practically drowning myself in coffee. I set my brief case down next to my desk once I reached my office. I noticed there were two additional chairs set us, totaling to four chairs. There was a sticky note placed on my far right monitor screen of my three monitors.
~You have a small briefing with Thubs of Fury at noon. Prepare yourself~ Illjoon
I groaned outloud. It was six as of now. I could probably get away with a short nap. The logical part of me knew it was a bad idea for me to sleep on the job, but the cunning part of my brain whispered you have no ither appointments. You barely got any sleep, you deserve it. Guess who won that argument. Yeah.
--5 hours and 56 minutes later--
"Oh god, I slept for too long." I groaned to no one in particular. I looked at my reflection in my monitor screens and along with my nap came messy hair. I scribbled down a quick note saying I'll be back in five in case I wasn't back and placed it on the outside of my office door. I then ran to the nearest ladies room and straightened myself up. Is that drool? I never drool... ugh, I'm such a mess. I redid my hair, reaplied my lipstick and whipped off the excess drool, straightened my clothes then coldly walked back to my office so it looked as if I meant buisness if anyone tried to mess with me.
I opened my door and found it as empty as when I left. I grabbed my note then placed myself back in my chair. It was 12 o'clock sharp and I'm on time, but not them. If they weren't as important as they are and didn't need them as badly as we needed, it would've left a very bad mark in first impressions as a buisness partner. But in this case, like I've mentioned and many reasons more, I have to make an exception.
