Becky walked down the stairs, then found the corridor deserted.  Wow, she thought.  At least now I can use some magic for myself.

She pulled her incredibly heavy backpack out, and flicked her hand at it.  It started floating on the air.  'Perfect!'

As she walked, she kept pointing her finger at her stupid backpack so that it moved with her.  'I love magic!'  she said herself, satisfaction filling her voice.

A few metres away from the entrance, Mr Cabello came out of a class, adjoining the corridor.  Before giving him a chance to see her suspicious little ( I mean big, not little) backpack, Becky jumped over her backpack and bumbled down with it.  She lay flat on the floor, her backpack beneath her tummy.

'Corner!?!' Mr Cabello said, amazed by her little stunt.  'You're alright?' he asked as she got up.

'Yeah, Yeah.  Yes, Mr Cabello.  I just slipped.'  she assured him dusting her dress.  A twinge of red formed on her cheeks.  'I'm sorry.'  she said and took a step to leave.  She tripped this time, colliding with the floor again, on her butt.  'Bloody hell!'  she muttered under her breath.

'Are you sure that you are alright, Corner?'  Mr Cabello asked, thinking Becky had gone mad.

      'Uh-er...Yes, sir!'

She stood up again, and took a step, very carefully.  Thank god!  This time god showed some grace so that she didn't trip.  She walked a few paces, then realized that she didn't have her backpack on her shoulder.  She turned to look at her black backpack, lying on the floor, beside Mr Cabello's foot, whose face clearly showed that he thought Becky was insane.

'I'm sorry!  I missed my backpack'  she ran to it, picked it and ran again, before anything stupid could happen.  She could feel Mr Cabello looking at her.

'Mom!?!' she shouted, as she left her shoes in the shoe rack outside the entrance door of her house.  'Mom!  Mom?'

'Yes, dear!'  her mom responded after a few minutes, which felt like a few hours for Becky.

'Did you buy me the funnels, mom?'

'Funnels?  What funnels?' she asked, gaping at her daughter having no idea what she was talking about.  Then her expressions changed.  'Oh, yeah, I remember.  For the Chem lab, right?'

Becky nodded, realizing that her mom hadn't bought them.

'Sorry dear, I forgot to get them.'

Becky glared at her mother, who was smiling like a 3-year-old.  There is no use in arguing, she thought.

'Gimme money, I'll get them myself.'
