Chapter 4:

Something is falling from the pier. Something big. But I have no clue what it is. When a loud splashing sound could be heard it really caught our attention. Me and Will were on a late night walk by the beach of my hometown. The band were here to do a few concerts before summer ended.

Normally, the sound of waves would fill my ears on this way that I've walked a million times. Splashes in the water made by fishes are also very common. But never have I heard such a loud splash whilst on my walks here.

The sun was setting by the horizon and it was quite hard to see what happened out there in the water. Will started walking again but I stopped him. "Wait, I want to see what that thing was"

He nodded and we stood there just looking out over the water until the object floated up to the surface. We couldn't see what it was so we ran up and to the very end of the pier. Will turned on the flashlight he had on his phone. The sight we saw down there was not what we were expecting. It was a body.

"Will, call 911 while I get her out of the water!", I shouted before running back to the beach and into the water. She was a long way out in the water, but luckily, she didn't weigh too much so she was easy to carry. I placed her in the wet sand and started searching for her pulse. I found it. She's not dead.

I ripped her shirt open to reveal her bra. I felt horrible for exposing her this way, but this is how I was taught to do CPR. I tilted her head backwards so that her trachea could transport oxygen freely and I then put my left hand on top of the right one and placed over her exposed chest. I started pumping. After a minute of pumping I put my mouth on hers to make her breathe. After keeping on doing that for a good 10 minutes she started coughing. I rolled her over so she was laying on her side. She coughed out a suprisingly large amount of water for only being in the water for about 15 minutes. I heard sirens sounding and Will started running towards the ambulance to guide them over here.

I observed the girl as she was coughing. She was slim, but she looked healthy. She had more muscles than most girls. Her wet, blonde hair reached to her shoulders, and her pale skin was filled with goosebumps.
And before I knew it, she was out of my sight. In the blink of an eye, she was already in the ambulance, on her way to the hospital.

Will sat down in the wet side besides me. None of us cared if our clothes would be totally ruined. We just sat there in silence while listening to the sound of sirens and crashing waves. "Shouldn't we be following her to the hospital?", I asked. Will patted me on the back. "Man, I already talked to the ambulance driver and explained that we don't know her, but her phone was still working so they called her parents from there"

He sighed. "It's alright, Guy. She's safe"

After a while we had gathered enough strength to go back home. We opened the door and Jonny looked at us very strangely. "What have you guys been doing?!", Sam shrieked as she put her hands on her hips. "Calm down, sweetheart", Jonny said as he wrapped his arm around her waist.

Will and I sighed loudly. By now Sam had managed to get both Chris and Adelaides attention too. While four curious eyes were watching us, Will and I sighed heavily. "Okay guys, it is some shit serious story, so could we maybe sit down with a cup of tea before we start?", Will suggested and I thanked the Lord that I had such a smart friend. Sam and Jonny disappeared into the kitchen to make some tea while Adelaide started to take care of Will. In front of me stood Chris. "Guy, are you alright?"

I don't know why. But tears started rolling down my cheek at those words. Chris came closer and pulled me in for a hug. "Everything went so fast. I didn't even have time to be scared. But now it's coming, all at once"

Chris smiled lightly. "I have no idea what you're talking about, Guy". And then I remembered that it was just me and Will there. "I saved a girl from drowning, Chris"

Chris looked at me in pure shock. After a while he said "I'm proud of you". Before we could continue any further the others interrupted us and wanted me and Will to tell the whole story. And we did. We told them everything. "Oh my god. You have to visit her tomorrow on the hospital", Sam said. I thought about it for a moment. Maybe we should. After all, we were the ones who saved her.

We were silent for a long while, everyone in their own thoughts, until Will spoke up. "We saved someone's life". The others just nodded and mumbled something in agreement. But not Adelaide. "It's not the first time, guys. It's just the first time you've experienced it"

I was confused. "What do you mean?", I asked. "Wake up guys. You're in one of the biggest bands in the world. I meet fans of you almost every day that tells me that they were suicidal, but that you and your music saved them. This is not the first time you saved a life, Guy. Far from actually. But it's the first time you've been there and been aware of what's happening. She will want to see you. Go visit the girl tomorrow, Guy. It's the least you can do"

A/N:

Yup, that's right: Adelaide and Sam are back! Time to celebrate!

For those of you who haven't read my other story Reign of Love I strongly suggest you should, so that you understand what's going on in this one, since Swallowed in the Sea is taking place after Reign of Love. But to make things clear for you: Adelaide is Chris fiancé and Sam (or Samantha) is Jonny's fiancé. Just to make things clear.
