Day 216
"I got my guitar."
"OH MY GOD I MISSED YOU BABY!" Katie screams hugging my guitar.
Such love for me. I can really feel it.
"Teach me something today pleeaase. I want to learn before the night camp."
"Yeah sure. When is it anyways?"
"Somewhere in November."
"We have a month."
"And are you coming for dandia night?" She asks referring to the coming Saturday night.
"No , my mom won't allow me for night camp then."
She purses her lips and doesn't say anything further.
"I'll teach you during the break time and the lunch time."
This is enough to get a full blown grin on her face.
Such a goofy friend I have.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay for beginners, I'll teach you easy. We'll do two chords per week and you are going to practice switching between those chords. Then I'll teach you strumming. Then we'll learn a song."
Katie squeeles.
I didn't know she could do that.
"Ok basic knowledge that's neck, those are frets, the strings are from 1-6' from the thinnest to thickest as....."
"Every Beautiful Girl Deserves Almost Everything. E,B,G,D,A,E."
My heart flutters from his voice.
I sigh.
"You are quite correct Max."
He smiles and walks away.
"Let's continue." I say to Katie who is now wiggling her eyebrows.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Can I play your guitar?" I hear Max ask.
It's lunch time and I am sitting in the class because the lunch hall is too noisy , wet because of the continuous rains and overly crowded.
"Sure." I say surprised.
He ran his hands through his hair. It's a habit I noticed he has. He does that when he is stressed, wanting something, waiting or thinking.
He usually never asks, if he wants it, he takes it without any permission or whatsoever.
He started strumming and the sound of it filled the atmosphere.
With each strum, each chord, I was more mesmerized than before. I almost forgot the effect music could have on me.
The sound of strings vibrating in a perfect harmony gave me the utmost inner satisfaction and I couldn't help but stare at him. With his hair disheveled from running hands through them, cheeks a little pink because of the breeze, that weird but adorable long nose, that jawline and those parted lips that hummed the song.
And I realised that it isn't only the strings of guitar that he is messing with. He is messing with my heart and apparently my brain has stopped functioning too because all the rational thoughts leave my mind.
I want to run my hands through those hair.
With the last strum I come back to the reality, still dazed.
"Beautiful" I mutter.
He smiles making my heart melt into a puddle.
God when did I get so... cheesy?
If only he knew that I wasn't talking about what he played when I said beautiful.
If only.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N : It's small, it's cheesy and it's a filler. The main drama, is still pending.
For those who Don't know dandia is a gujrati Dance form and is usually done before any festival or to celebrate something.
