*Gerard's P.O.V.*
Frank ended up falling back asleep. I mean, when I woke him earlier it was very early in the morning.
So I wanted to surprise him with breakfast in bed.
Of course, I made some pancakes. Frank loves how I make pancakes! And then there was some fruit, a cup of coffee, and -of course to top it all off- a red rose.
I put all of those things on a tray neatly then took it to the bedroom where Frank was slightly awake and stretching.
"Baby?" I pushed through the door quietly.
"Hey." He sighed. "What's that?"
"It's for you." I placed it down on the bed. "It's not the most romantic of meals but -" I picked up rose then leaned down to Frank, gliding it down his cheek. "I thought this would cover for romance." I kissed his lips.
He hummed. "It's perfect."
Frank sat up, his hair a mess as his hand went through it.
"There's only enough for one...?"
"Like I said, it's not the most romantic thing..."
"Then what about you?"
"I ate earlier."
"Why?"
I thought there was an easier way to go around this, but I guess not....
"Because I got another job and I have to go to work soon."
"When were you going to tell me?"
"I didn't want to. I wanted -"
"You were just going to leave without me knowing?"
"Frank - it's not like -"
"Did you not think I was going to worry or ask about where you were?!"
"No - Frank - listen to me. It's not like that. I just got you back, and I wanted to spend time with you. Of course I knew you were going to ask about it at some point. That's why I took those days off. And I was going to tell you this morning but I didn't want to wake you and I thought maybe if I made this," I gestured to the tray of food, "for you, it would be easier to tell you."
"Oh..." He looked at the tray then down at the rose he was holding.
"Frank?"
"No, it's okay."
We were both quiet for a little bit. I looked over at Frank, he was clearly thinking about what had just been said or something else. I smirked at him and said, "You know, I could really use a lunch for this job, though."
He looked over at me. "I think I could throw something together for you."
I giggled which made him smile and leaned in for a kiss.
*Frank's P.O.V.*
As Gerard took a shower, I packed him a lunch. I made him a sandwich, some left over fruit, a water bottle, and even threw in a little note for him.
I packed up all of the food into a lunch box for him when I heard him get out of the shower.
"All good?" He asked.
"Mhm!"
He kissed my cheek. "Awesome! Alright," He got all of his stuff together, "I have to go. I'll be getting out of work by 5. I'll call you. I love you." He gave me another kiss.
"Love you too!"
I stood by the window, watching him walk to the car then back out of the drive way. When he was no longer in sight, I took a deep breath in thought.
There were things that Gerard didn't want me to do without him here. For instance, go outside. But I just spent two years walking the streets of Brooklyn everyday. He wouldn't be upset if I went out on my own just this one time, would he?
I got dressed and cleaned myself up, ready to take a walk. I was going to do it. I want to prove I can do something on my own and this a way I know I can get that point across.
I put on my shoes. Nothing was going to stop me now. I grabbed my jacket, my phone, and my spare key. I looked at the door and took a deep breath.
"Nothing's going to stop me. I want to do this."
I opened the door and stepped outside, shutting and locking the door behind me. I began to walk down the street and into the city all on my own.
I feel ashamed though, no one knows I'm doing this, but I want to. I don't care what they say. I want to do something on my own and show them I can do it!
The buildings here are not as tall as the ones in New York. Not by a long shot! But the sight still interests me. I make sure not to walk into anyone or any place I don't know. As far as I'm concerned, everything will be fine.

I haven't checked the time since I left the house. But when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and when I pulled it out I saw Gee appear across the screen. Was it really 5 already?!
I pressed the talk button. "Hello?"
"Hey, Frankie! I just got out of work. I'll be home soon, alright?"
"Yeah - alright."
"What are you doing? Where are you? It's very loud in the background."
"I'm - uh -" I shouldn't lie. Not to him. Anyone but Gerard. "I'm in the city."
"What?! Where are you?! I'm coming to get you! Stay where you are!"
"No - no - Gerard, I'm okay! I promise!"
"Where are you?!"
"Don't worry about me. I know where I'm going."
"Frank, where are you?!"
There was no winning this. I know what I've done and I know Gerard was not pleased with my decision. I also know I'm going to get a lecture from him when we get home.
"In front of the fountain.." I mumbled.
"Stay where you are. I'm taking you home." He hung up.
I took a deep breath.
He was pissed.
