Charles's POV
"Oh right, I would have before but that was quite the hairy situation," I told her as her body shivered from the cold.
Suddenly the car was heated and her mutation started again.
"You don't have to tell me." She mumbled under breath, her hair and eyes bright orange and furious.
"We're going to a secret FBI base, mutant division," I said, hoping she wouldn't be frightened.
"What's a mutant division?" She asked, her power falling away as she calmed down.
"A name he made up for a group of people like you," Erik answered smirking, surprising me with his good mood.
"There are more of us?" Lillith asked, her eyes shining with curiosity and hope.
"Yes, the whole world is full of people like us, people with extraordinary abilities and powers," I said, happy to talk about this for ages.
"How many have you met?!" She asked excitedly, leaning forward in her seat.
"I don't know, there are far too many to count," I said my grin widening with hers.
"There are five others on the team. There's my sister Raven, she can change into any form of any person she chooses including having their voice, then Armando Muñoz who can adapt to anything, for example, a snowstorm or burning dessert and Sean Cassidy has the ability to scream at sonic levels. His screams are deafening to anybody nearby can shatter glass and scare away animals, Alex Summers has the fascinating ability to absorb cosmic radiation into the cells of his body and transform it into energy, he is then able to shoot this powerful energy from his body. There's also Angel Salvador, Angel possesses the ability to fly at high speed through the air, she is capable of aerial deceleration to the point where she can hover in place, mostly stationary aside from the rapid beating of her almost dragonfly-like wings. She usually hides her wings by having them fuse with her skin, in which they take the form of tattoos."
'I wish she didn't have to hide her power' She thought kindly, making me smile.
Even with all, that's happened she's thinking of someone else, how selfless.
"Tell me more." She said, eager to learn about mutants, making my face nearly split in two.
"Yes, of course, Hank McCoy has prehensile limbs, so much like apes, he can easily cling, grip, and almost latch onto structures and objects with his feet, and I don't know for sure yet but he may also have superhuman dexterity; as he can perform many tasks with his feet as easily as a human could do with his or her hands. But one thing nobody can deny is his Intellect, McCoy has a keen scientific mind. He possesses a genius-level IQ, with extraordinary expertise in genetics, biochemistry, electronics and many other subjects. Then, of course, there's Erik here who has the, quite literally, mind-bending power to bend metal at will-"
"So that's how you broke my chains. I thought it was some sort of telekinesis! Magnetokinesis the ability to generate and manipulate all forms of magnetism."
"And you have telepathy, the ability to read minds, and telepathic communication, the power to telepathically communicate with others, that's how we could hear each other. But I still haven't quite figured out how you projected what you were seeing to me. Maybe a reversed telepathic illusion or an advanced telepathic communication?" She said, so fast in fact, that I nearly didn't catch all of it, but also surprising and intriguing me with her knowledge of the proper terms for our mutations.
Realizing how fast she had spoken she looked down slightly and blushed lightly.
"Now I hope you don't think I'm questioning your Intelligence in any way, but how did you know all the names of our abilities?" I said with curious eyes and a cautious tone trying my hardest not to offend her.
"When I found out I had.. um... well, 'mutations' as you called them, I couldn't really ask my parents for advice, so, I started reading up on abilities like yours and eventually found pyrokinesis, the psychic ability allowing a person to create and control fire with the mind; but I'm not really sure It's that, It could also be Electrokinesis the psychic power to manipulate energies, electrical currents, and generate electricity with the mind." She explained, making me smile more if that is even possible.
'She's intelligent, selfless, kind and humble. Can she get any more beautiful?' I thought to myself.
"How old are you?" Erik asked, pulling me from my thoughts.
"...well, I don't know, what year is it?" She asked, unsure of herself and a bit scared, making me wonder... how long had she been down there?
"1962," I said gently as her eyes grew wide.
"We're here," Erik said, stopping the car as Lillith nearly jumped out of the car, her eyes and hair blazing once again.
"1962? 1962!!! He kept me there for six years!?!" She screamed in rage, at no one in particular, shocking me. She is a very soft-spoken person.
The green beneath her bare feet burning to ashes as she walked, her hair flying behind her and eyes nearly neon orange.
'She is so beautiful.' I thought before she started flying off the ground.
"Lillith," Erik said, pulling out of my thoughts again to see him holding her once burning hand and pulling her back to the ground.
Erik caught her as she fell and I ran to her in worry to see that she had passed out in Erik's arms, probably from using too much of her powers all at once.
'Poor kid.' Erik thought looking down at her. 'She was in there for longer than I was with him.'
"We should get her to a room and possibly have McCoy take a look," I said looking up at Erik as he nodded in agreement.
Starting to walk away from the brunt and they ground with him, I knew... this was only the beginning.
