Chapter 16: Indi's POV
Lunch was so hectic! I'd been let out of History early to go and help set up the hall in prep for the ticket sale, which was a Godsend 'cause we only just finished in time to grab some food and position ourselves behind the desks ready for the onslaught of hysteric girls and guys.
I was sat at the desk in the middle; with Elle, Jax and Alexis on one side, and Jamie, Blake and Will on the other. The group had volunteered their services for the sale. Tabby and April however, had disappeared off to God knows where! I had found Faye and Rupert in their classes and pulled them along too, as the official models for the prom, it should help draw the crowds in.
Macie, a red headed girl who was on the 'paperwork team' was standing somewhere behind the desks, next to a huge plan of the Dining Hall at Harrington House (where the prom was actually being held). Groups of friends could reserve tables together in advance so they were guaranteed to be with who they wanted. Which ultimately stopped any arguments. And if any couples wanted to sit alone, there were limited tables offering a romantic sitting for just the two of them. Although they were going to have to pay extra on top of the ticket price (which included the meal - lucky I knew the people who owned the House due to Zac having worked there one summer as a waiter. So I managed to get a great deal for us!)
I glanced at over my shoulder at the clock. 12.45pm. Right, let's get this started! I nodded to Kimberlie who was on door duty, making sure only a few people were allowed in at a time, and she threw the doors open wide.

Who knew handing out tickets could be quite so exhaustive? But hey, we were getting lots of people, lots of money and lots of questions regarding song requests for their girlfriends from many a doting boyfriend. Wasn't sure of the bands view on that one, I'll ask Aaron later.
"Here you go, thanks very much, see you there!" was all I had said for the past twenty minutes. Honestly. I could see the look on all the volunteers faces as people just kept flowing through the door, one after the other, in a never-ending queue.
The system we had set up seemed to be working though. Elle, Alexis and Jax took the peoples names down on a numbered list. The people then shuffled over to my desk where I handed them a ticket with their corresponding number, before they moved onto Blake, Will or Jamie to pay. The dining tables were steadily filling up with names. There hadn't been any hassle, everyone was happy and it was all going smoothly!
"Psst!" Tabby suddenly hissed in my ear. Where the hell had she come from? Whatever. "Tell everyone to stop a second. There's a surprise."
"I can't!" I replied hastily, "We're really busy here Tabs!"
She grinned, "And so were Apes and I...persuading."
I just looked at her quizzically as she continued to smile inanely. Only for her. I stood up out of my chair and hopped up onto the desk, waving my arms manically and yelling "STOP! Listen up!".
The packed hall went silent. Most of the people who had tickets were still hanging around waiting for friends to buy their tickets so they could leave or sort out where they were all sitting for the meal. The excited queues fell into line, all facing the front; facing me.
Then Tabby screamed, "I give you - BACKWARDS FACING UNIVERSE!!!"
And the hall erupted - girls squealed, guys clapped; everyone was stamping and jostling to see, phone cameras poised as the stage curtains opened and on walked Seb, Oscar, Aaron and Noah.
"Hello everybody!" Noah yelled out at the crowds of people, "Thought we'd drop by and say hey. See how it's all going. Convince everyone to come to the Prom! It's gonna be awesome!"
