dear mom,

today i saw a little girl on the swings

no older than i was before i lost hope

before the twinkle in my irises dimmed, and i still saw you as my whole world

like a fireball in the night sky that died eons ago unbeknownst to the stargazer

but you can't help but watch, unable to tear your eyes away from the impeding explosion

before smiles stopped reaching my eyes, and I still had wrinkles from laughing too much

as if the corners of my lips were sewn on, stitched with the thread of my tears

my seamstress no other person than you

before i could no longer remember your voice that was once music to my ears

like a song that you can't remember the title of

my memories distorted by the screams and shouts that poisoned

the girl was with her mother

it made my heart hurt

it opened up cracks that i had already patched too many band-aids on

and jealousy ran through my veins, my blood pumping green with envy

that she still had someone

who was still there to give her a push to reach the stars when she needed it

who cared enough to build her wings so that she could fly

who stayed behind her, ready to catch her if she fell

unlike you

who pushed me so far away that the Milky Way galaxy of dreams turned into a black hole of nightmares

who stole my wings for yourself, and flew away from our family's nest

who constantly left my side,

exchanging me like a bad deal of cards for whoever waited in bed

pushing me to fall so deep into this endless pit of despair like i was alice

as if you were the white rabbit hopping on the run, with no time to spare

pocket watch in hand, one foot always out the door

'oh dear! oh dear! i shall be too late!' rings in my ears

except this hell is no wonderland

yours truly,

evelyn

A/N: Hi again! Thank you so much for reading this far :)

So, feedback: Loved it, hated it? I would love to hear from you all.

I'm trying to figure out if I should make a constant uploading schedule, or just upload whenever they're written. Right now, I'm ahead of my timeline. But, that could change quickly and I would hate being under that type of pressure. What do you think?

Don't forget to vote, comment, and follow, okay?

Happy April Fools!

Love,

Kiana
