15 and Famous- One Direction fanfic

Today was the day I was auditioning for the X-Factor. Ever since I was little I always wanted to be a famous singer.
"Alice come on you're going to be late!" My mom yelled up the steps. I looked at my outfit one last time. I was wearing ripped jeans, a black tank top, a denim button down, and combat boots. I ran my hand through my straight blonde hair and smiled. I still couldn't believe today was the day I was finally going to make my dream come true. As I jumped down the steps I saw my mom smiling at me.
"Oh sweetie you look so grown up!" My mom said pulling me in for a hug.
"Thanks mom. Lets go I refuse to miss this!" I said picking up my bag off the side of the couch.
"Ok let's go." She said grabbing the keys.

It had always been just mom and I. My dad left when I was little and I never heard from him. I didn't really mind mom always made sure I was taken care of. We lived in a big house in New Jersey a few miles away from Philly. I was brought out of my thoughts when my mom stopped the car. I could see lines of people already there. When I stepped out of the car the early June air hit my face. I felt butterflies in my stomach as we walked up to check in. I had gotten my spot 3 months ago so I didn't have to wait in the longer line.
"Hi Alice Doran." I said smiling at the guy sitting behind the table.
"Ah yes here's your number just put that on your shirt. Now you are up in about 2 hours. When we call your number group you'll have a chance to warm up if you need to then you audition. It should be very simple. Is it ok if we interview you for the show?" He asked.
"Yeah I don't mind! Thank you very much." I said smiling.
"Ma'am you can wait in the parent room or you can leave." He said turning to my mom.
"Ok sweetie I'll see you afterwards. Break a leg." She said kissing my cheek before walking away from me. I felt my hands start to shake as I put my number on my chest. I was number 102876 I laughed at how the first 4 numbers made out my birthday. When I walked into the room I could see all the hopeful singers. When I found my number group I sat down next to a girl listening to her iPod. I did the same thing and started to listen to my audition song. I could believe I was going to be singing soon.

"Alright number 102876 please step forward!" Some guy with a headset said.
"That's me!" I said walking up to him.
"Alright here is the microphone. When I say go walk out on to the x and wait there. Good luck." He said handing me the microphone.
"And go...." He said giving me a light push on the back causing me to stumble a little bit.
"You ok there?" I heard someone ask and I saw it was Demi Lavoto.
"Haha yeah I'm fine!" I said walking out on to the x.
"What's your name?" She asked smiling at me.
"I'm Alice!" I said smiling.
"How old are you Alice?" Demi asked.
"15." I watched as they all looked at me.
"Really you're only 15? What would you do with all the money?" One of the judges asked.
"Pay off my mom's house and then put the rest away for college." I said feeling my nerves kick in again.
"Wow smart girl. So what will you be singing today?" Simon asked.
"Um mean by Taylor Swift." I said I could feel my hand shake.
"Well then go ahead." Simon said. Guess someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I took a deep breath and tried to shake my nerves away.
"You with your words like knives and swords and weapons that you use against me....." I started to sing and soon my nerves were gone. I started to move around the stage and really get into the song.
"Thank you love." One of the judges said.
"That was very good for someone your age." She said smiling at me. The rest of them nodded their heads and agreed. "Let's vote." She said clapping her hands together.
"Yes."
"Yes."
"Yes."
"It's a yes for me too. I think you are really going somewhere Alice!" Simon said giving me a big smile.
"Oh my god thank you guys so much!" I said as I walked off the stage I saw my mom standing in the wings waiting for me.
"Mommy they all said yes I'm moving on to boot camp!" I said throwing my arms around her.
"Oh sweetie I'm so proud of you!" She said hugging me tighter. The same guy that signed me in was passing out packets to the people moving on. Inside was a plane ticket to New York where they were having boot camp this year, and all the other information.
"I can't believe I did it!" I said as I started to jump around.
"Come on let's get you home." My mom said taking me by the shoulders. In the car I kept bouncing in my seat thinking about how in a few weeks I would be in boot camp. This was going to be the start of me getting to MSG.
