"Hey Alice wake up." Lauren said shaking me.
"Hey morning. How much time do I have?" I asked sitting up.
"About 3 hours before we have to be down stairs. Get a move on though." She said before walking out of the room. I stood up and stretched my back out. I went to the bathroom and turned the shower on. As I stepped in I started to practice my song for today. I had always been able to sing Avril Lavigne. The way her voice moved was like mine. When I stepped out of the shower I was still singing. I decided to do a simple outfit. I put on a pink tank top and skinny jeans. Since I was going to be dancing I put my hair in a wet pony tale and put on my white converses. I applied light make up. I grabbed my phone off my night stand along with my iPod. All I could think about was food at the moment. When I opened the door Jacob was leaning against the wall waiting for me.
"Hey Alice." He said from the wall.
"Hey Jacob. I want food." I said as I headed for the elevator. The show had scheduled a big buffet for us to eat while we were hear.
"Well ok then." He said catching up with me.
"So since when do you wear pink?" He asked pulling on the bottom on my tank top.
"Always. I mix it up now and then." I said smiling as we ran into a few more contestants that were staying on our floor.
"Guess that keeps things interesting." I said smiling at him. When the elevator finally showed up we all piled in. I was pressed in the corner with Jacob almost on top of me. I felt him grab my hand and intertwine our fingers. I smiled at him and he smiled back. When the elevator stopped we were let into a conference room where there were multiple tables filled with food.
"Food!" I said as I walked in still holding Jacobs hand. A few people looked at us weird. I knew what they were thinking well these two are defiantly going home today. Just because we make friends here means nothing. I grabbed a plate and put a muffin and some eggs on it. I grabbed a bottle of water and one of the slices of lemon off the table.
"What's with the lemon?" Jacob asked as he grabbed milk.
"First off put that down. Drink water or tea. Secondly the lemon gets every thing out of your thought. Now that I'm thinking about it I need tea too." I said walking over to the long line of teas.
"How do you know all of this?" He asked taking a lemon and a cup of tea too.
"When I audition for plays and stuff all of us trade secrets after the auditions so these are the two that come up the most." I said as we walked over to a table.
"Well thanks for the tip." He said he was about to squeeze the lemon into his tea when I slapped his hand.
"Doesn't work like that you have to put the actual lemon slice in your mouth." I said taking a bite out of my muffin.
"Ew gross you actually do that?" Jacob asked as he took a bite of his eggs.
"Yes. Before every audition and every show." I said as I kept eating.
"Gross. Man you are dedicated." He said. Once we both cleared our plates we sat there talking for a little bit. Soon someone that looked like one of the stage people came back and started talking.
"Welcome everyone to the first day of boot camp! We will be starting the singing part soon so make sure you are full warmed up and have all traditions out of the way. We all wish you the best of luck. Keep in mind 20 people go home today." He said before walking away again. I stood up and walked over to the small group doing vocal warm ups around the piano. After warm ups I went back to Jacob who was staring at the two slices of lemon.
