Chapter 2

"Alright baby girl. Have fun, let me know how everything goes, and stay safe." My mom said kissing my cheek.
"I will mom. It's not like I'm going a billion miles away. I'm just a few hours away." I said hugging her.
"I know sweetie but still I'll miss you. Break a leg." She said kissing me again before I had to get on the plane. I was getting ready to fly to New York for boot camp. I couldn't wait I had gotten an email telling me everything that was to happen. When I landed I was to check into the hotel and get settled. They paired everyone up with a roommate already. The next day was the first day of boot camp where we all to sing one song and learn a dance. The first 20 people were going to be sent home that day. When I found my seat I put my bag above me and waited for the person who had the seat next to mine. I was looking out the window when I felt someone accidentally slam their body next to mine.
"Ow!" I yelled turning to see a guy about my age sitting next to me.
"Oh sorry. I tripped. Hi I'm Jacob." He said extending his hand towards mine.
"Hi I'm Alice. Why are you going to New York?" I asked.
"I'm on the X-Factor. What about you?" He asked.
"Same thing! I'm so excited!" I said smiling.
"Same I can't wait to get there and see who I'm sharing my room with." He said smiling back at me.
"Yeah I know I hope I get someone cool." I said.
"So how old are you?" He asked.
"I'm 15 what about you?" I asked.
"I just turned 16." He said smiling at me again. He had the best smile in the world. His teeth were perfectly white and straight. A guys smile was always the best part of them. Jacob also had really nice hair. It was just a normal guy hair cut but it looked really good. It looked like chocolate just like his eyes.
"Hello earth to Alice!" He said waving his hand in front of my face.
"Oh sorry must have spaced out." I said laughing a little at myself.
"Fell down the rabbit hole now didn't we.." He said laughing at me.
"What?" I asked.
"You remind me of Alice from Alice in wonderland. The long blonde hair the big blue eyes." He said giving me a little smirk.
"Oh I never got that one before. I like it though. Have you seen the remake of it?" I asked.
"Yeah it was cool I like the album for it with painting flowers by all time low. It's such a good song." He said.
"I love that one but I like Alice by Avril Lavgine." I said taking out my iPod.
"Is it just because your name is Alice?" He asked.
"No it's a really good song I was thinking of singing it tomorrow." I said.
"Oh wow I forgot to pick a song for tomorrow." He said. I started to laugh a little at him.
"Don't worry what did you sing the first time?" I asked.
"Remembering Sunday by all time low. I like their songs they are cool to sing." He said.
"Why don't you just do painting flowers then?" I asked.
"I think I will thanks Alice." Jacob smiled before putting his head phones in. I did the same thing and started listening to Alice.

When the plane landed Jacob handed me my bag as he pulled his down too.
"Wanna share a cab?" He asked as we worked our way towards the exit.
"Yeah I guess." I said smiling.
"Cool." Jacob said smiling down at me. I had always been a little short for my age but not super short. As we walked Jacob grabbed my hand. I looked up and saw him smirking at me. I let out a weird giggle and automatically started to blush. Oh god I'm being such a tool.
"I like your laugh Alice." He said as we stepped out on to the street. I hailed the cab and we both got in. When I told the driver the hotel he nodded his head and said about 20 minutes.
"So are you doing anything tonight?" Jacob asked.
"No not that I know of." I said.
"Wanna go to time square and look around?" He asked me I felt my stomach do a flip.
"Y-yeah sounds cool." I said stuttering.
"Great. This will be fun." He said giving me another smile.

Later that night as I got ready I heard my phone go off it was a text from Jacob.
"What's your room?" He texted me.
"203 :)!" I texted back and went to get my jacket off my bed.
"Where are you going?" My roommate Lauren asked.
"I'm going out with another contestant." I said smiling.
"Oo don't forget about curfew at 11:30!" She said as we walked into the bathroom. Lauren was 18 and her and some of the older contestants were going to some club. There was knock when I answered it there stood Jacob in a pair of black skinny jeans, a white t shirt, a leather jacket, and black converse.
"Hey Alice you ready to go?" He asked. I nodded my head and walked over to get my bag. I looked at my outfit. I was wearing skinny jeans, a floral tank top, my mini leather jacket, and my combat boots.
"Let's go. Bye Lauren!" I yelled before closing the door behind me. When we walked out of the building we could already see the lights from time square. We were only about a block away. I felt Jacob take my hand again.
"Ok so lets go! Wanna see what all the fuss is about." Jacob said as we started to walk.
"You mean you've never been to time square?" I asked.
"Yeah I know it's weird I live so close but never been." He said giving me a small shrug.
"Well it's amazing my favorite part is broadway. All the plays and the lights it's just so amazing!" I said.
"Really you like broadway?" He asked he looked really surprised.
"Yep! It was my first dream to be there but then I realized I wanted to sell out MSG more. I'm in to show tunes too. I bet you I can name at least one song from every play they have on display." I said.
"Alright miss cocky pants I'll take that bet." He said.
"If I win you pay cab fair for the rest of the time both of us are in New York." I said smiling.
"Fine if I win you have to kiss me." He said winking at me. I felt my cheeks blush as we kept walking. When we finally reached the broadway posters he started calling out their names.
"Wicked."
"Defying gravity!"
"Lion king."
"I just can't wait to be king."
"Chicago."
"Cell block tango."
"Mama Mia."
"Honey, honey."
"13."
"The lamest place in the world."
"Newsies."
"Waving the banner."
"Kinky boots."
"Shit that's a new one! I don't know that one." I said.
"Haha I win!" Jacob said throwing his arms up in the air.
"Shut up that's not fair it's new!" I said pouting.
"Oh don't be such a baby Alice." He said poking me in the side. I just rolled my eyes as we kept walking. I guess I didn't really loose I get to kiss Jacob.

Later that night as Jacob walked me up to my room I could feel butterflies in my stomach.
"So I would like to collect my winnings now." He said when we reached my door.
"Ok. I guess." I said as he pulled me closer to him. When our lips met they started to move in perfect sync. I felt my hands move up to the back of his neck and pull him closer to me.
"Aw look the youngins kissing!" We heard someone yell. I pulled away from Jacob and felt my cheeks blush.
"Hi Lauren." I said waving.
"You two kids are so cute. But tell your friend here to hurry up if you're not in your room in the next ten minutes you get the boot." Lauren said unlocking out door.
"Bye Alice." Jackson said kissing me again.
"Bye Jacob." I said as he ran down the hallway. When I walked into the open door I saw Lauren sitting on her bed waiting for me to tell her everything.
"Lauren it was amazing! We walked around broadway, the rest of time square we got hot dogs from one of the venders and it was amazing!" I said falling on to my bed.
"Almost got eaten in the hallway." She mumbled under her breath.
"He was not eating me!" I yelled feeling my cheeks blush.
"Don't forget Alice it's a competition." Lauren said before taking over the bathroom again. I knew this was a competition I was just having a little fun. So sue me. I changed into my pajamas and crawled into bed. I had to wake up early since I still needed to shower. Oh well tomorrow is going to be even better.
