Chapter 26

As my dad walked down the last few steps I felt my heart actually stop. I finally got to see the man that I got my eyes from. Now that he was an actual person and not just a pair of eyes I felt like I was complete. I had always felt like I was missing out on something when I watched other girls with their dads. I didn't think twice before I ran over and hugged him tight.
"Hi dad." I said feeling like I was going to cry. My dad towards over me in height so I was eye level with his chest. When I pulled away I saw he had tears in his eyes too.
"Hi Alice." He said kissing the top of my head I felt like for once in my life I knew who I was. When I stepped away I wiped a few tears away from the conners of my eyes.
"Can we talk in my office before lunch?" He asked. I nodded my head and followed him down the never ending hallways to two large wooden double doors. He opened the door for me and gestured for me to sit down on the leather couch.
"So Alice." He said smiling at me.
"Dad listen I know this is awkward my mom told me everything. I understand why you would choose them over me. I'm nothing to stick around for." I said looking down at my hands.
"Alice Louise Doran don't ever say that. I didn't leave because of you. I left because your mother and I agreed that we both weren't happy. I never stopped thinking about you. I would look at pictures of you on your mother's Facebook and feel so proud. And then when Savanna told me about the new opening act for One Direction and I saw it was you I was the proudest dad in the world. I wanted to be there for you but it just didn't work. I should have worked harder but now I have you and I want to be your dad now." He said holding me hand.
"All my life I have walked around wondering who my dad was. My mom always told me I got your eyes, nose, and little smirk. She said the way I say of few things reminds her so much of you that she thinks I am you. Dad I've missed you for 15 years of my life For that time you were always just a pair of blue eyes that I saw in the mirror. Now that I see you sitting in front of me it doesn't feel that way anymore." I said feeling like I was going to cry.
"I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you." He said hugging me.
"I do have a question for you though." I said pulling away.
"What?" He asked.
"Why didn't you want Savanna to come and find me?" I asked.
"Because I didn't want you to start second guessing who you were. I didn't want you to feel this burden hanging over you to know I was still around with two other kids your age." He said looking at his own hands.
"When did Savanna and Bo find out about me?" I asked. This question had been bothering all night.
"A few weeks ago. Savanna wanted one direction tickets and she kept going on about you and then she asked why we had the same last name. When I didn't tell her she kept asking, and then she snooped through my computer and found your baby pictures. We hadn't told them before that because we knew your mother wasn't going to tell you. We were all very ashamed of the past Alice." He said refusing to make eye contact.
"I understand. I was shocked when she came up to me. I didn't know what to think so I just kinda shut down. Then I was angry, then sad, then angry again, and then I got my nose pierced just to piss you and mom off." I said trying to laugh.
"Oh god Alice! Why would you put holes in your face!" He said taking my face in his hand and looking at my new piercing.
"Wow already yelling at me. Don't worry mom said I'm grounded when I get off tour." I said smiling at him.
"Well no computer for a week now. Give your lap top to one of those boys you are with." He said. I laughed and he smiled at me.

"Lunch time!" Some one yelled from the kitchen. Savanna, Bo, and I walked through the kitchen doors to see who I guess was Brenda standing behind the island.
"Oh my goodness you must be Alice!" She said waking over to me. She had long brown hair, and dark green eyes. She was wearing a pair of shorts and a floral top.
"You must be Brenda." I said giving her a small hug back.
"Well lets eat!" She said turning back towards the island where there was chicken salad, and potato salad. After we each made a plate we walked out to the back porch.
"So Savanna what do you do for fun?" I asked. I really wanted to get to know my siblings.
"Well I do tennis, I'm class president, and I do a lot of community service." She said. I knew it I could tell she was into tennis.
"What about you Bo?" I asked. I looked at him to see his mouth full of food. I started to hysterically laugh.
"I like baseball, and I play a little bit of guitar." He said taking another big bite of food.
"Either of you have a girlfriend or boyfriend?" I asked.
"I have a boyfriend!" Savanna said smiling.
"I have a girlfriend." Bo said.
"Aw well they better not hurt my baby brother and sister." I said smiling at them.
"I told you she would hold the month over us! Just like you do to me about that whole minute you are older than me." Bo said rolling his eyes.
"What are y'all doing tonight?" I asked.
"Nothing." They said at the same time.
"Wanna spend the night at my hotel?" I asked.
"We'd have to ask dad." Bo said.
"We can go bowling if you guys want we don't have I spend the whole time in my hotel room." I said playing with the straw in my drink.
"That sounds fun I'll go ask dad." Savanna said getting up.
"So Bo how's school?" I asked feeling a little awkward.
"It's school. How's the whole being a pop star thing going for you?" He asked laughing a little.
"You know paparazzi wondering if I'm dating any of the guys I tour with. People wanting pictures. The normal stuff every 16 year old does." I said laughing.
"Alice dad wants to talk to you!" Savanna yelled walking in.
"Yes dad?" I asked turning around.
"How protected will they be with you?" He asked.
"Very. Paul the security guard is working for most of the night. And the boys and I have a floor to ourself so there won't be any thing to worry about people hurting us." I said smiling at him.
"I guess but Savanna you have a tennis match tomorrow night so make sure you are ready." Dad said smiling at us. I felt so happy at the moment that I felt like I might cry from it. I had my siblings, my dad, a stepmom, my mom, and amazing friends. My life was perfect.
