Haylee's Point of View
I stared into the blue-green eyes of Louis. His eyes were wide and his mouth was slightly open in shock. I felt Niall's arm wrap around my waist, pulling me towards him.
"Er, hi Lou", Niall said, embarrassed.
"Hey Niall.....". Louis trailed off. I knew that Louis wouldn't say hello to me, we still had to pretend that we didn't know each other.
"Oh, sorry. Haylee this is Louis and Louis this is Haylee", Niall introduced. I broke out of Niall's embrace and walked toward Louis. We exchanged small smiles as we shook hands, our eyes locking for a few seconds. Before Louis let go of my hand, I caught him eyeing my bracelets, silently counting them. I'm guessing it shocked him when he found out that two were gone, because I saw his eyebrows slightly rise. I stepped away from him and looked at my feet, the awkward becoming fresh again.
"So, what are you doing out so late?", Niall asked Louis.
"Nothing much, just going for a walk to clear my head". I knew where he was going, he was going to the field. I know that's the place he goes to when he wants to think or to clear his head.
"Well, I think I should go now, it's getting late", I said, looking back towards Niall.
Niall frowned, "Do you have to go?".
I nodded. "Well, I'll walk you home then", he started, but I cut him off. "No, it's alright. Besides, your house isn't near my house, I don't want you to walk a long way".
"Where do you live?", Louis piped up.
"I live in Queen's Garden."
"Where's that exactly?".
"It's right by that bakery that Harry works at", I mentioned.
"How do you know Harry works there?", Niall questioned.
"I've seen him there a couple times". I knew Niall was suspicious, he was making it way too obvious.
"I don't care if it's a long walk, I want to make sure you get home safe and sound", Niall sincerely said. Why must he be so cute and good with words? I was about to say something when Niall's phone went off, the loud ringing disturbing the quiet of the night. He looked at the caller I.D. and then looked back up at Louis and I, holding up a finger to let us know that he had to take the call. We both nodded and I watched him walk a few feet away, out of ear shot. I looked down at the ground, not knowing how to talk to Louis. I was still mad at him and he still needs to apologize.
"So, you and Niall?", I heard him ask.
"What? No, of course not", I quickly replied, looking up to meet his face.
"Really? Because that's not what it looked like a few minutes ago when you two were snogging each other's faces off".
"I don't know what came over me", I whispered.
Louis sighed, "Are you still mad at me?". I gave him a 'no shit Sherlock' look. "Yes. You left me when I needed you the most. I thought you could help me, but instead you left me and you never texted me like you said you would and you completely ignored me".
"That's a lie. I didn't ignore you, you're the one who ignored me when I asked if we could talk".
"That's because I was still mad at you. Do you know how long I just sat in bed and thought about why you were mad at me? Why were you so mad anyway, it's just Harry".
"That's the point, it's Harry". I didn't say anything else to him, I just let our conversation hang there, leaving it open instead of closing it. I looked up to see Niall walking back towards us, he was running his hands through his hair, making it go in different directions.
