Louis' Point of View
"Haylee I can explain" I rushed. I noticed the shock in her eyes, but there was something else in her eyes that I couldn't pin point. Was it fear? Or was it anger?
I watched as she shook her head, turning on her heel and running off into the night. What the fuck have I done? I ran my hands through my hair, trying to figure out what to do.
"Oh come on Louis. She's gone, come back to me" Grace whined from beside me. She started to pull on my shirt, beckoning me to come closer to her. I stopped fidgeting with my hair, turning to look at her dead in the eyes. I couldn't understand how Grace Kingsley was my match. Out of all the girls at my school I had to get matched to her. My mind wandered back to when I found out.
Flashback:
"Where are you Haylee?" I grumbled under my breath as I stared at my phone, waiting for a text from her. I've looked everywhere and I still can't find her. She wouldn't leave without telling me. And I know it doesn't take this damn long for her to answer a text.
"Hey mate, when did you get here?"
I turned around to come face to face with Harry. He was clutching a beer in his hand and it looked like it wasn't his first, or his third...
"Not too long ago. I'm just looking for someone" I simply said. I stood on my tiptoes, trying to get a better view of the dance floor, but still no sign of her.
"Ah, well, have you seen Jake anywhere? I'm trying to find him to tell him something", he slightly slurred before taking another swig of his beer, a little falling onto his chin.
I shook my head. "Nope. I haven't seen him."
"Alright, I guess I'll just keep looking then. Thanks anyway" Harry smiled before going off in search of Jake. Jake was another one of the 'popular people'. He's the captain on the lacrosse team. He held the record in scoring the most goals in lacrosse and in women too. I've heard that he sleeps with a different girl every night, but hopefully that's not true, because that's just gross.
I jumped when I felt a hand slap my back, followed my that unmistakable Horan laugh.
"What's up Tomlinson?"
"Nothing really. What about you Horan?" I chuckled as I turned to face him.
"Same. I just wanted to come over and thank you for saving my ass back there" he sincerely told me. I furrowed my eyebrows, not remembering how I 'saved his ass'.
"Remember...I was at Haylee's house... I needed a date idea" he paused, trying to freshen my memory. I felt my heart burn with something that I hated. Jealousy. It all came back to me.
When I had finally gotten home after getting rejected by Niall, I had made myself some soup and was sitting on the couch watching a movie when I got a text from Niall. He needed a date idea for Haylee. Before I could even think about what I was doing, I had typed him what Haylee had told me years ago. We were in the field discussing our date lives and what we've always wanted to do when we got a girlfriend/boyfriend. I remember Haylee telling me that she had always wanted to do Paint Twister. I wanted to do that with her, but my idiocy in telling Niall ruined it for me. Haylee probably thinks Niall is some type of prince or something, and I'm just a friend. A friend. Nothing more and nothing less.
"Oh...yeah. You're welcome..." I muttered, trying to control the anger that was running through my veins. I wanted to know more about this 'date' with Haylee. I wanted to know every single little detail. I was in full jealous mode, and I don't think there is an off switch.
"Um, if you don't mind me asking, what else did you do?" I asked politely and innocently as possible. Niall's eyes started to sparkle and he started to lowly chuckle.
