Four days later

Haylee's Point of View

Crying. So much crying. It was like there wasn't an off switch for it.

For the past week I've constantly been with Louis. The night we came back from Paris, I spent the night at his house while his parents went to the hospital. His gran died at 3:16.

I don't know how long Louis cried, but I was there with him all throughout the night. I held him on the couch while he wept, and eventually he fell asleep.

That's basically what our last days of Spring Break consisted of, me consoling Louis until I had to go home.

Now it was Monday, when school started again. But I was attending a funeral, all dressed in black with my boyfriend.

We were currently standing right in front of her gravestone, reading the fine writing in our heads as we silently said our goodbyes.

Louis' hand tightened around mine, redirecting my attention to his face.

"Thank you for coming" he whispered, still staring at the dark grey stone.

"She was practically my gran too. Of course I would come" I solemnly said, giving his hand a quick squeeze. Louis hummed in response, staring for a few more seconds before gently pulling me away so we could head back to the car.

"Louis!" someone shouted from behind us. Louis and I quickly turned on our heels to see his mother ushering him to come towards her as she stood with a woman I didn't recognize. Louis let go of my hand, excusing himself before strolling over to his mum with his hands stuffed in his pockets.

I sighed, not knowing what to do as I stood there awkwardly alone in a cemetery. Suddenly, I heard someone whisper my name, causing goosebumps to travel up my spine. I turned on my heel, expecting to see one of Louis' family members, but I was met with Jake standing by a tree, dressed in a tux.

I looked back at Louis, making sure he was occupied before cautiously walking up to Jake. Yes, I know what he's capable of. He's taken advantage of me and hurt me both physically and mentally, but I need him to give me some answers. As I got closer, I noticed his jaw was clenched and his hands were balled up in fists by his side as he narrowed his eyes at me. Before I could get a word out, Jake beat me to it.

"Do you not fucking remember what I told you to do?" he whisper shouted, his hot breath hitting my face.

"What are you talking about?" I harshly whispered while crossing my arms over my chest.

Jake took a step closer to me, so he was inches in front of me. I stood completely still, my muscles tensing up as I felt Jake wrap an arm around my waist in a rough manner. His hand gripped my side, holding me captive as he bent his head down to my ear.

"I told you to break little Tomlinson's heart" he whispered, his lips still lingering by my ear. I froze, remembering what he said to me in Paris.

"I wasn't going to break his heart to begin with, especially when his gran just died" I growled back while bringing my hand up to his chest, lightly trying to push him away.

Before I could blink, Jake gripped my sides before turning me around so I was up against an angel statue. My eyes widened in shock as his eyes shone with darkness, peering right into my soul. His hands felt like fire as they gripped my waist tightly, making it impossible to move.

"I told you to do one thing and one thing only" Jake spat in my face. His sinister stare soon turned into a look of cockiness as he grinned devilishly at me. I squirmed in my spot as Jake brought a hand up to my face, gripping my chin tightly. "You never listen do you?" he chuckled as he watched me squirm.
