"Okay, I'm sitting here with the young, beautiful and talented, Aubrey Mclawhorn." "Aubrey, we understand you're releasing your first song today?" "Uhm, yes sir. Tonight at 12 actually." The audience clapped their hands.
"Can't wait to hear it!" "Thank you so much. It means a lot to me!" I blushed and placed my right hand over my heart.
"Now, certainly all of our listeners know who you are. Justin Biebers girlfriend." I nodded my head yes. "Now a week ago he did a interview with Ellen. Did you see that?" "Yes, of course!" I nodded my head and gave the guy a funny look.
"He mentioned you guys were on a break and kind of poured his heart out to you." I blushed and covered my face. "What was your reaction." I laughed. "Uh, I didn't know what to do. I kind of had like a spasm in my bed! I was kicking and bouncing all over the place."
"We all wanna know... What is it that Justin did?" I inhaled deeply. "I'm sorry, but I'm not getting into that. There's a fine line with the publicity and personal life. I don't feel like it concerns you guys. Yes, if something hurt Justin, I'd never blame you for jumping down my throat.
We're a couple. Couples have their problems. But only the strong ones will make it through. We're making it through together." I grinned and everyone cheered.
"Alright, how long has it been since you last saw Justin?" "It's been a little over a month." I stuck my bottom lip out. "But you guys stay in contact?" "Uhm... We haven't really. He's very understanding with this break. I told him I needed time to think and he's allowed it."
"But this is JUSTIN!" I giggled. "Yes, I know. But he's also human and makes mistakes. Just cause he's a celebrity doesn't mean he should get treated differently. I'm going to treat him as Justin. Not Justin Bieber." The crowd whistled and hollered.
"Do you love him, like really love him?" "Uhm. Yes I love him. I wouldn't be still trying to be with him if I didn't love him. Am I certain that he's going to be the one I spend forever with? I dunno..." This time, there was booing.
"I mean no one knows that. But I have a really thick wall around my heart. I made a promise to myself to keep it there till I was certain. But that boy is quick to tear it down..."
Later that night, Scooter took me out to dinner to celebrate. "I really am so proud of you, Aubrey. You've done a lot of stepping up and you've shown me your full potential." I took a sip of my water before replying.
"Thank you, Scooter. For all of this." "The pleasure is all mine." About the end of our meal was the next time we spoke. "You know I wasn't trying to be the bad guy with you and Justin right?"
"Oh I know." "I know you're going to do you, I just wanna see you do what's best for you. Maintaining a relationship with all of this is not easy. I just hate to see you guys fall."
I stayed silent for a few short moments. I knew it wasn't going to be easy. I mean look at all that's happened in the seven months I've known Justin. "I don't want easy." He smirked and rose from his chair.
"I've got to get going. Your drivers out front." "Thank you Scott." I hugged him and pushed my chair under the table.
I walked around the corner and soon found myself on the floor. "Oh my, God. I'm so so- Aubrey Mclawhorn?" The girl held her hand out and pulled me up. "Yeah, and you are?"
"Oh my, God. I'm Natalie Carson. I was there the night Justin pulled you onto stage! You are so so talented!" I grinned. "Thank you so much, Natalie." "Uhm, I hate to impose, but do you think I could have a picture?" "Of course, sweetie."
I walked to her side and wrapped an arm behind her back. She did the same to me. She took the picture, "thank you so much!" "My pleasure hun. Nice meeting yo- Is this yours?"
I bent to the ground and picked up a small notebook that was laying open. "Yes, thanks." "Are these song lyrics?" The girl tucked her hair behind her ear and look shyly at the ground. "Yeah. I write."
I smiled at her. "I'd love to hear or read some one day." "Are you serious?!" I giggled, "yeah. Are you free sometime this week?" "Yes! Everyday!"
"Great." I pulled a small card out of my wallet and wrote my number on it. "How about tomorrow?" "That'd be amazing! Yes!" "Awesome." I placed the card in the book, closed it and handed it back to Natalie.
"Call me tomorrow morning then." "Okay!" She attacked me with a hug and continued in the direction she was headed before.
About 11:30 that night, I was sitting on my hotel bed of course. Twitter was blowing up and #YourLove was trending worldwide. The name of my single.
I was in the middle of typing a tweet when I was interrupted by a video call. I answered.
"WHAT YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU WANNA SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE WITH ME?!" The boy on the screen made a pouty face. "Oh cry me a river!" He chuckled.
"So are you excited?!" "Ecstatic!" "It's still not fair that I haven't got to listen to it yet!" "Oh, it's a surprise!" "I've got it preordered! So does everyone else up here." Justin moved out of the way and the crew waved to me.
"Awh, I love you guys so much! Thank you! How was your show tonight?" "It was great babe! Only three to go till I'm with you again." "Can't wait!" i shot a smile to the camera.
"I'll talk to you later!" "bye." I closed the computer screen." I looked at the clock. It was 11:55. I tweeted, "5 minutes till #YourLove!" About 10,000 retweets later we were down to one minute.
I had so much anticipation and excitement! I was literally staring at the clock...12:00 a.m.
"#YourLove is now available on iTunes. Thank you so much!" Scooter was going twitter crazy. Tweeting, retweeting. I saw so much amazing feedback online and iTunes.
I got a notification that Justin had tweeted... "#YourLove is perfect just like the singer. Great vocals on that girl. #Lucky."
As soon as I retweeted, I got a phone call. "Hello?" "ITS SO GREAT. WE'RE SO PROUD!" The whole crew was screaming and my cheeks hurt from smiling. "You guys really like it?" "Aubrey, it's amazing. We all love it."
Later that night, Justin and I were still on the phone. "Babe, it's like two in the morning." "I know, I'm too happy to sleep." "It's already number four Aubrey. That's insane." "Thank you, Justin." "...for?"
"I'd never have this chance if it wasn't for you. I couldn't have done this without you. Scooter would've never heard me sing. I never would've had the guts." "I never meant for any of this to happen. I just wanted the world to hear your beautiful voice." I could almost hear Justin's smile.
"So are we going to be together when I get back?" I sighed. "Like I said we have a lot of talking to do. But yes, we'll still be together." "Just know that I am sorry... Hurting you is seriously the last thing I ever wanted."
I cleared my throat trying not to bring back flashbacks from that horrid night. "I know, Justin." "I hope so." "Try to get some sleep. You have a show tomorrow." "Okay, goodnight, baby." "Sleep tight."
I pulled the phone from my face and pulled the covers over my head.
After only six hours of sleep and a Starbucks run, I met up with Natalie at a local park. It was great to get out under the sun.
Not a lot of loos were given since there were mainly adults. That was amazing also.
"Girl! Your song was mesmerizing!" I was greeted with a hug. "Thank you so much! Did you bring your journal?" "I sure did."
She handed me a bright orange notebook. The cover had sketches all over it. You could definitely tell she had had it for quite some time.
I opened the book and it revealed this girl's story. All of her feelings that she had turned into poems and songs. All of her past. She revealed myself.
