"I was so messed up lastnight. What did I tell you, Aubrey." I didn't reply and I allowed my head to fall. "Bre." Justin picked my chin up, "what did I tell you?" I flashed a fake smile.
"I don't know. You had said something before I left the room but I didn't understand you." "Oh, well I couldn't tell you, babe." He pecked my lips and went back outside.
I was about to walk out to him, when my phone vibrated. "Hello?" "How is he?" "He's fine, Scooter." "Great! Now, we have some good news!" "What's up?" "They like your voice. We wanna sit you down and figure out your style."
"What!!! Are you serious?!" Justin came back in the room with a confused expression. "Yeah. Be ready by nine tomorrow morning." "Thank you!" "Yup." I tucked my phone away and squealed! "What is it?" "We're going to analyze genres and start figuring out songs tomorrow morning!"
Justin's face grew wide with a grin. I ran to hold him. "That's great news baby!" "Hell yes it is." I pulled away with my hands still on his arms and his still on my hips. "Are you coming tomorrow?" "I dunno. Guess it depends on my head..."
"Why the long face, Justin?" "I'm still worried about those fans..." "Come here. I have an idea." I grabbed his hand and pulled him to the bed. I sat at the end while he sat at the top.
I pulled out my laptop, opened up the webcam and pressed record. "Hey, Aubrey here. If you haven't heard, I got a little frisky with the paps last night. Just know I didn't mean to come off as rude. I was just tired and upset.
I was just trying to help, but now I see where it could've been seen as me trying to come between you guys and Justin. I hope you know I'd never do that. We're a family and I love you guys more than anything."
My boyfriend was starring at me in the face with a toothless grin. His eyes glistened and were even smiling. "Also, Justin's fine." I turned the laptop to him and he waved.
"What's up guys! Yeah, I'm good. Just a little sore and drained. My head hurts." He turned his head to show the camera his battle scar. A patch of his hair was missing, making the stitched up gash look worse. "Nasty, right?
Anyways. First I wanna say, I'm sorry about the show tonight. You guys know how badly it hurts me to do that. It sucks so bad for you guys and I know you're disappointed. I promise I'll make it up to you somehow.
And uh, secondly...to the fans that were around me yesterday when I had the incident. Please, please don't blame yourself. I understand you guys probably don't feel too good about it, but look. I'm perfectly fine, just recovering.
I know your intentions were good and you just wanted to see me. I wish there were a way that I could see you guys and hug you. Hopefully we got some good pictures! Anyways, I gotta go.
Just know I love you and I'm so blessed to have every single one of you. Thank you for the kind words. I couldn't get through a day without you. Much love." Justin shot a wink and closed the camera.
We uploaded it to youtube, twitter, facebook in hopes fans would spread if around to reach everyone. We knew it would.
The next day called for being early risers. I didn't want to, but Justin insisted on me waking him up.
We got a quick bite to eat before entering the studio. Justin said hey to some familiar faces and I shook hands with complete strangers.
"Alright. We've kind of figured out you're a pop singer. But you've got edge in your voice. You remind us a lot of Adele. You make the listeners feel the song through your tone. That's just what we have to match your voice with."
A different man spoke, "are you a song writer?" "Well who hasn't at some point written before? But no I definitely don't do what Justin does, no." Well maybe you've got some talent in you." I smiled.
"We're going to get you to pick out a song. After you do that. You'll start rehearsing, memorizing, recording and we'll piece it together. Alright?" I nodded my head and the men stood.
"We'll be right back with the tracks." The exited. "This is insane. It took me damn near 3 years to get in your position and it took you 3 days!" I sensed a little edge in Justin's remark. "Well I know what I'm doing now. And since you, people don't find as crazy anymore."
"It's just moved so quickly." Justin rolled his chair in front of mine to face me. "You do realize in a month, you'll have a single, right?" I grinned and kicked my feet.
"Alright. Just pick which one you guys. We'll come up with an agreement."
Four songs played. They were all great! The demo singers were perfection and I didn't see how I could compare to them.
"Well?" "I think the second one." Justin was first to answer. "Agreed." Scooter confirmed. "Sounds good to me!" "Alright." A colored man stood before me and handed me a cd. "There's your first single. Here's the lyrics. We'll be in touch."
Justin and I arrived back to our hotel. "You ready for your first job?" "No." I tossed the belongings on the bed. Justin giggled at me. "I'm exhausted!" I plopped my back on the bed.
"Take a nap." He walked to the bed and crawled on top of me. "I can't when you're hovering over me." "I can put you to sleep, babe." He whispered in a sexy tone. His breath brushed over my face and it made my body tense up.
"Very funny." I tapped his nose and pushed him off of me to where he was standing on the floor again. He smacked his lips, rolled his eyes and exited the room.
I sighed and rolled over to my side... It wasn't long after I closed my eyes that I fell asleep.
"Justin! Please stop it!" My body struggled underneath his. "If only you would've been willing when we were together!" He shouted. "Ju-Justin. Pl-please don't!"
"Shut up!" I felt a sharp pain in my stomach.
I woke up to a dark room and a heaving chest. It was a nightmare... I skimmed my fingers underneath my shirt to my scar. My dream brought back memories.
"Justin!" I called out with no reply. "Babe?" Still nothing. I slowly slid out of the bed onto my feet. "Ju-" A small object lit up on the night stand. It was Justin's phone.
