We sat in the waiting room for hours. Still have yet to hear anything from the doctors. I was pacing the room with all eyes on me.
"Justin?" "Yes Rachael?" "Please sit down, you're making me nervous." I deeply sighed and took a seat next to Fredo. He massaged my shoulder and rubbed my head. I heard a familiar sound and turned my attention back to Rachael. She was humming Be Alright.
A parent in the room started nodding her head. Za started, "Across the ocean. Across the sea. Starting to forget the way you look at me now." He stopped and the parent continued "Over the mountains. Across the sky. Need to see your face I need to look in your eyes."
Next to join in was Fredo and Rachael "through the storm and through the clouds. Bumps in the road and upside down. I know it's hard babe to sleep at night." Everyone went quiet and starred into my face. Chills overcame my body and a tear ran down my cheek. I could take a hint so I continued on..."Don't you worry, cause everything's gonna be alright."
Everyone joined in together. "Be alright. Through the sorrow and fights. Don't you worry, cause everything's gonna be alright. Be alright." "All alone in my room. Waiting for your phone call to come soon." I noticed I was the only one singing now but I didn't stop. This was actually calming my nerves.
"For you, oh. I would walk a thousand miles. To be in your arms, holding my heart. Oh I, oh I, I love you. And everything's gonna be alright. Be alright. Through the long nights and the bright lights. Don't you worry, cause everything's gonna be alright. Be alright.
You know that I care for you, I'll always be there for you. Promise I'll just stay right here. I know that you want me to. Baby we can make it through any-" I was interrupted. "Eh, em." All eyes met the doctor's that was standing in front of me. I quickly stood to my feet.
"Yes?" "Follow me. But only Justin." The doctor walked off, I looked over my shoulder at my friends, licked my lips, and followed behind him.
We stood in front of an unfamiliar room. "What am I-" The doctor smirked and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Go in, son." I watched him walk off in the direction we came and turned back to the door. I was honestly scared to open it.
The fear was soon to be overcame and I slowly opened it. The TV was on and there was a curtain blocking a bed. I walked up to it, took in a deep breath and poked my head around it.
There she was. My beautiful, Aubrey. Blue eyes just shinning as bright as day. I revealed my full body. "AUBREY!"
I watched her face become shocked and she placed a hand over her heart. "Ju-Justin-" "Oh my, God!" Not noticing she wasn't done with her statement "Oh! YOU'RE JUSTIN BIEBER! What are you- Why are you- How do you! Oh my, God!"
All of my excitement was shot. I knew what was going on, but it didn't correctly register through my mind. "Aubrey, you don't remember..?" "Remember what?! Of course I know you! I'm your biggest fan!"
I dropped to my knees and covered my face. I was heartbroken. Even though she was here, I still lost her. I began to weep.
The sound of a bed creak caught my attention. I peeked through my fingers and saw bare feet on the cold hospital floor in front of me. My eyes followed from them, all the way up to meet Aubrey's face. She was smiling.
"Of course I remember, Justin. I'm just kidding, baby." She bent down and cupped my face. I returned the gesture. Finally, I was looking back into my whole world. She leaned in and concealed my quivering lips.
"That. Wasn't. Funny. I. Was. Scared. To. Death." I pecked her lips after every word. She poked her bottom lip out and apologized. "I forgive you, babe." I wrapped my arms around her waist and lifted us both off the floor. I continued to hold her until we heard a knock on the door. Za, Fredo, and Rachael all walked in with a huge smile on their faces.
The boys both tightly hugged her and admitted to missing her so much. I watched her sight go over to Rachael who was leaning against the wall. "Rachael's helped us out so much! She found us that night!" I informed. Rachael walked to Aubrey and they both smiled. Rachael forcefully hugged Aubrey, and she was quick to respond.
After hanging out for a while and catching up, Aubrey got up to use the restroom. "Dude, you gonna tell her?" Fredo asked. "Tell her what?" "Tell her that you love her!" I was silent for a minute, "not yet. She-she just woke up. I just have to figure out how to tell her."
I was making excuses. I really didn't want to tell her. It was different telling a lifeless body. I just got her back and I'm not gonna let my dumb ass ruin it again. "Well you better hurry. You already see how short life can be..."
"Guys" Aubrey was back. "I hate to ruin this pow-wow but I'm extremely tired." "Say no more. We'll get out if your hair." We all stood. "Justin...can you stay. Please?" I smiled and pecked her lips. "Of course."
The others said their good-byes and headed out. I followed behind them to shut the door and cut the lights out. Some how I found my way back the the bed without a problem. Aubrey was already snuggled underneath the soft sheets, so I crawled in with her. She placed her head on my chest and stared running her fingers over my torso.
"I'm so happy to have you back in my arms, baby." I admitted. "Happy to be back." "I thought I had lost you. I'm so sorry I let you go. I swear it's never going to happen again. Never ever scare me like that again!" She sniffled and let out a sigh. "I'm sorry for running out and threatening your career. It is partly my fault so stop apologizing so much."
I smiled and rubbed her back. "You're right. I have you now and that's all that matters." She lifted her head and pecked my lips before returning to her position.
"Justin. I'm happy you want me, but please don't put your career in danger for me. I never want to hear you say 'fuck the fame'." My mind got to wondering. The last 3 words she said were so familiar...then it hit me. "Bri. Where did that come from?" "I-I don't know. But now that I said it I swear I've heard those words before." She started tapping my chest.
That was one of the things I told her while she was in the coma. What else did she hear?...
