Beta

Since this probably is the last day of my life, I pretended like I was Ashton's mom and told the school he was sick, then called again to say I'm sick too because I'm basically all alone and no one else can call for me. I decided to meet the boy I saved yesterday and try to help him with what he's going through. Due to the fact he appeared in my mind yesterday and it's a full moon and he just got bitten. He might kill Ashton if I don't get there before he wakes up. I basically just got home and went upstairs. I took a nap for like an hour and went to get dressed again.

I put on blacked ripped skinny jeans and an All Time Low tank top with a leather jacket over it. I got my black vans old skools out of my closet and put them on. I grabbed my phone from the bedside table and went downstairs again, ready to run over to Ashton. I run everywhere because one, I haven't got my drivers license yet, and two, I don't even have a bicycle. When I came up to the door I could somehow feel that the boy was already awake. I could also feel he doesn't feel the moon yet. "Ash! I'm here open up!" I shouted because his mom will probably be mad if I wake her up too early. If I shout she won't hear me that loud but Ashton does.

Seconds later the door unlocked and Ashton opened up the door. He was already dressed to go out and the boy was behind him. "We don't know each other yet, let me introduce myself. I'm Camille. And I am going to try and keep you safe today and teach you everything I know." I felt how scared he was because of what happened tonight. He still sees it flashing before his eyes. "I- I am C-Calum, nice to meet you." "Don't be scared of me, if they show up again, I swear I'm going to do everything I can to get you safe." He just nodded. "Calum? Are you okay?" I asked, already knowing the answer is no.

"How do you think you can protect me from those people. You don't even know what they looked like. Their eyes were glowing, they had teeth like animals and they had claws." He said thinking back to the alpha who bit him. "You mean like this?" I said as my fangs grew out, my claws showed up and my eyes started glowing bright red. He backed away immediately. "Calum? I will only get them out again when you're in danger." "Promise?" "Promise." I have no idea why but he seemed like I could trust him with my life.

We walked away from Ash's place and walked into the woods. I avoided the place where the alpha and his 3 betas were lying for dead. "Calum I need to tell you a couple things." I turned around and Calum stood in front of me, waiting for me to go on. "But first, can I see the wound the other werewolf gave you?" I carefully asked. "Yeah, sure." He removed the bandages and nothing was there. He looked at me with shock in his eyes. "What does this mean?!" He shouted. "Calum. Don't freak out because if you accidentally attack me you'll probably end up dead." I said.

"So... the bite that guys gave you yesterday, that was the bite that turns you into a werewolf. So... Calum. You are like me." "How do you mean I'm like you?" "You, are a werewolf now." He shook his head and backed away. "No I'm not." He shook his head and walked back. "Calum... I wish I could've stopped the ass who did this and I'm really sorry." He kept telling himself it wasn't true and I felt so sorry for him. If I was just a little faster I could've saved him.

"Calum. Do you trust me? I want to show you." He looked at me insecure. Then eventually he nodded. I stepped closer and I'm pretty sure this is going to scare him. "Calum. What I'm going to do right now might be... scary? But don't be scared. I'm not going to hurt you." He nodded, he was still so shocked about everything and I know it's my fault. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Then I opened them, I growled at him, lets just say it was pretty loud. Immediately he turned and growled back at me. Then suddenly Calum got scared of himself. "Calum it's okay you aren't going to hurt anyone and I won't let anyone hurt you." I said. "You can't promise that!" He said. "I can! If I have to I will stay with you for the rest of my life! Just promise me you will stay with me for today because you are slowly losing your control over the day and I can stop you from hurting others." "What are you?" He said turning towards Ashton. "Human." Ashton awkwardly replied.

"He cannot protect you." I added. "Are my eyes glowing red too? Like yours are doing?" "Wait what? My eyes are red?" I asked. I didn't do that. I squeezed them shut and shook my head a few times. "No. Your eyes are not red, they're yellow. You're a beta. I... am an alpha." I lied. I have no idea what I am. Practically I am, I killed one last night.

"What does that mean? Alpha?" "An alpha leads the pack. It can create a pack by biting others and turning them. You, are a beta. So you are, or were, part of the pack of that jerk who did this to you. The bite can be a gift, it has many benefits which I will teach you, but it also sometimes feels like going through hell." He nodded. "So. Now that my alpha is dead, what am I now?" "Werewolves who have no alpha or left their pack are lone wolves. Or rogues. However, the strength of the pack is the wolf and for the strength of the wolf goes the pack. A pack makes you stronger." I explained.

"So, what's your plan getting me through this... out of control kinda thing?" He asked.

Also, I'm working on a trailer for this book, actually I've been for like what 2 maybe even 3 days? It's not going that well but I really want it to work out so stay tuned if you want to see it! I hope you enjoyed this chap :)
