I went to the salon to get my mind of you know who. I was giving a guy an edge up when he spoke. "I know it's none of my business, but you need to fix whatever's bothering you."

 I was so surprised that I almost messed up his hairline. "Um what do you mean Mr.Daniels?" 

He paused before saying, "I come in here all the time and I notice a lot of things. You come in here when you want to get away from your problems. Don't use this salon as a getaway from trouble because the trouble will still be there. You get what I'm saying?" 

I nodded my head and finished him up.

He was right, like always. Mr. Daniels comes in here every two weeks and I always cut his hair. We talk and he gives me life lessons and good advice. He's like the father I never had. My parents died in a car crash when I was two, so my aunt took me in and raised me.

I'm supposed to go out with Nori tonight, but I don't know if I want to go. I'm still thinking about my argument with Ben and it made me think. What's the real reason I turned Dwayne down? Was it really because I wanted Ben? Nah I'm just tripping. I cleaned up my station and put everything away. I was about to clock out but the receptionist stopped me. "You have one more gentlemen coming in a few minutes. I sighed and went back to my area and took my clippers back out. I went to the storage room to get a razor and when I returned, I saw Ben sitting in my chair.

Lord please help me. I smiled and greeted him like I would greet any other client. 

"Hello sir, how are you today." 

He raised an eyebrow and said, "Not good." He looked at the poster on the wall and showed me the cut he wanted. 

"Oh that's tragic," I said not caring for the details. I finished him and he paid. Once again, I put everything away and clocked out. When I got to my car, Ben was leaning against it.

"Can you move so I can get in my car? Nori's waiting on me so that we can go," I said irritated. 

"You're not going out tonight. We have some things to discuss, so get in the car and let's go," he said with authority. 

"I didn't wanna go anyway," I mumbled. 

When we got to the house Nori had left. Ben went straight to the kitchen and raided the cabinets. Once he got what he wanted, he went to my room.

I reluctantly followed him. "When did you get here?" I questioned.

 "I got here a few hours ago. The flight was only an hour and a half. I got Nori to pick me up and I've been here chilling since then," he said with his mouth full.

 "Ew don't talk with your mouth full, that's nasty. But anyway why are you here?" 

He swallowed and said, "What do you mean why am I here? We have things to talk about and I felt that we should talk in person. I want to be able to see your facial expression when I tell you this." 

He paused and licked his lips, "The reason I've been an ass to you is because I like you. Yesterday on the phone you said that I don't look at you the same as other girls. You're right and that's because you're not like other girls." I opened my mouth but the words weren't there.

Ben chuckled before continuing, "I have one more thing to say." He grabbed my hand and looked in my eyes. "April Fools."
