I've been talking to Dwayne everyday since we went to the zoo. He's sweet, nice, fine, funny, fine, and caring. And I mention he is fine. I'm not sure how I feel about him yet, but I'm sure I'll figure it out soon. I haven't told Ben about it yet because we haven't talked in weeks. I've been thinking about him more than I should and that's starting to bother me. Do I like Ben as more than a friend? You know what, I'll just call him.

 "Hey Ben, Wassup. We haven't talked in a while, so how are you?" I said. 

"I'm good now that you called me. I've been so busy with my classes and trying to keep my grades up that I didn't have a chance to call you. Don't think that I forgot about you though." 

When he said that, I felt heat rise to my cheeks. Good thing he can't see me.

 "So what's up purple minion? Did you find a man yet?" he asked.

 "I guess you can say so. The last time we spoke, you told me to call your friend. I went to the kitchen and I heard someone behind me. I turned around and saw someone and I kinda, maybe beat his ass."

Ben started laughing so hard that I started laughing too. He has one of those contagious laughs. 

"Then Nori told me it was Dwayne and that you told him to come over," I said.

 "I did it because I knew that you weren't gonna call him," he said while still laughing.

 "He convinced me to go to the zoo with him and we've been talking since then. We're not together, so I guess you can say he's my halfway boo." 

Ben sucked his teeth and said, "What in the hell is a halfway boo? Y'all females kill me."

 I drew in a breath and said, "What did I tell you about calling me a female? I am a woman, so that's what I expect to be called." 

He sighed, "Don't start with that female shit. I don't wanna hear it today ok."

 I nodded my head and said, "You don't have to hear it." Then I hung up.

I looked to see him calling me back. "Why would you do some childish shit like that?! Don't fucking hang up on me again Star. Do you understand?!" 

He must think that I'm scared of him or something. I had to show him that he don't run nothing over here, so I hung up again. Just when I thought I liked him, he shows his ass. He does that a lot. When my phone rang again, I answered it without checking to see who it was. 

"What the hell do you want now?" I spat.

 "Damn Star, I just wanted to know if I could come over, but never mind," said Dwayne.

 "I'm sorry Dwayne, I thought that you were Ben. Of course you can come over."

Dwayne said he'd be here in thirty minutes, so I took this as an opportunity to shower and put on a tank top and some shorts. Just as I laid down and got comfortable, the doorbell rang.

 "Nori can you get the door, I'm in the shower," I yelled. I heard footsteps and then the door opened. (Nori's at the top)

"She's in the shower right now," I heard her say. 

Dwayne raised an eyebrow at me when he didn't see me in the shower. "I didn't feel like getting up ok. Don't judge," I said while sticking out my tongue. I jumped up and reached for the bag of snacks in his hand, but he put it high up. 

"Now you know you're wrong Dwayne. You're like 6'7."

 He chuckled and said, "You can have your sugar once I get my sugar." He pointed to his lips and I just stood there. On second thought, he can keep the snacks.

I got back in my bed and laid down, making myself comfortable again. Dwayne squinted his eyes at me and laid beside me. He gave me the bag, so I gave him a kiss on the cheek. 

He turned to face me and said, "You're a really pretty girl Star."

 Woah that came outta nowhere. "Thank you." 

He let out a breath before he continued. "I want you to be my girl. I know we haven't known each other that long, but I like you and I want you to be my girl." 

I froze right there. Say no, say no, say no. 

"So what do you say?"
