The next day, Ben offered to watch Athena while I went to work.

 "Ben, she doesn't know you well enough to stay with you," I said while making breakfast. I turned around to be greeted by two pouting faces.

 "Mommy, please? Mr. Ben said he would take me to get ice cream and we could go to Chuck E Cheese," Athena said with her bottom lip poked out.

I rolled my eyes and gave in. "You can stay with him for today, but tomorrow you have to go to Auntie Lu's house." 

I gave them their plates and watched them stuff their faces. I kissed Athena on the forehead before going to the door, but Ben stopped me. "Where's my kiss?" he asked with his mouth full of bacon. I blew him a kiss and left before he could say anything.

Once I was at work, my receptionist informed me that there was a person waiting to inspect the salon. I went into to waiting area to be greeted my Natalie. When she saw me, she stood up and shook my hand. She could tell that she took me by surprise because she said, "Natalie Lopez, the new salon inspector. Shall we get started?" I simply nodded my head and gave her the tour.

"Look, Star I know that we've had our differences in college, but I want to put that behind us. I envied you because you had someone that cared about you. I thought that in order for me to be happy, I had to date Ben. I was out of line for a lot of the things I said and did, and I apologize. I hope that maybe we can be friends." I couldn't help but think about what she did to me back at LSU.

I tried to hide my pregnancy as long as I could, but my tummy started growing and people figured it out. When Natalie found out, she was furious because I guess she wanted to have Ben's baby. One day she pushed me down and I had to be rushed to the hospital, but everything was okay. She also spread rumors about me sleeping with everyone on the basketball team.

I smiled at her and said, "Get out of my shop. Have a nice day." Friends? Nah she has the wrong one if she thought I was going to be friends with her after she put my child's life in danger. I trust her as far as I can throw her. She gave me a sad look before leaving. I went to my station and prepared for my clients.

When I got home, I was greeted by a messy house. There were loads of bags from Toys R Us and toys everywhere. There were dishes in the sink, food on the walls, and Skittles on the floor. I peeked into the backyard to see a brand new trampoline and a bike for Athena. Ben went over board with all of this stuff. I hope he has the receipts because he's gonna take it back to the store.

I went upstairs to my room to find the pair in lying on the bed reading Dr. Seuss books. It was so cute that I had to take a flick and send it to the girls. I hopped in the shower while Ben took Athena to her room. When I got out Ben was drifting off to sleep.

"Don't go to sleep yet. You need to go downstairs and clean up. There's food all over the kitchen and there are toys everywhere. Oh and I want you to take all of that stuff back," I said while climbing into bed.

 He sucked his teeth, "Come on Star, she was happy to get all of that stuff today. We went to the toy store and I let her get everything she wanted. She asked for a puppy too, but I told her we would ask you first."

"I don't want her to grow up thinking that she can always have her way. You showering her with gifts is gonna make her think that she's entitled to things," I said while flipping through the channels on the tv.

 He sighed, "I get where you're coming from, but I think you're being a little to hard on her. She's only three."

 I rolled my eyes in frustration, "Whatever Ben, I know what's best for my daughter, now go clean up that mess downstairs." 

He mumbled while he made his way downstairs.

Thirty minutes later, he came back into the room with a scowl on his face. He locked the door and turned off the tv. I picked up the remote to turn it back on, but he took it from me and pinned my arms above my head. My heart instantly began to race as I looked into his eyes. It's amazing that after four years, he still has this affect on me.

He stared kissing and biting on my neck as I tried not to moan. When he was satisfied, he pecked my lips and got off of me. I didn't have to look in the mirror to know that he had given me a hickey.

 He looked at my neck and smirked, "I want you to know the difference between me and Athena. Athena is your child, so you can tell her what to do. That's not gonna work with me and the next time you try it, you might find yourself with another baby." 

I rolled my eyes and said, "But you still did it though." 

He glared at me making me laugh. He is a true character, and I see where Athena gets her personality from. I can tell that she's gonna be a daddy's girl.
