*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
4:35am
My alarm. I hate that cock sucking thing. I turned over to see that the time was indeed 4:35 in the morning. I had to quickly shower, get dressed, and head out to Elise Island, before the sun rose. I wanted to get some great sunrise skyline pics, as well as Lady Liberty herself with the sunrise behind her.
I jumped into the shower as quickly as possible. The sooner I did my cleansing routine, (along with getting dressed and makeup) the closer I was to getting to see Gerard. I used my typical Spearmint shampoo to wake my ass up, as well as using my orange burst shower gel. I decided to shave quickly, thanking the gods that I didn't need to do much, since there was minimal hair.
After jumping out of the shower, I dried off faster than I thought possible, and got dressed. I was wearing black torn skinny jeans, a purple halter top with black skulls on the bottom, and some lace up boots with pixilated rainbow skulls on them. Applying my usual black eye shadow/eyeliner, thick mascara lashes, and a light lip. I was set. I grabbed my camera bag, overnight bag, checked out, and headed out of the hotel. I threw my overnight case in the trunk, and my purse, and camera bag in the front seat with me. Jumping in my car, I drove straight to the ferry, to Elise Island.
5:45am
The man running the ferry greeted me, and helped me on. The ride took about an hour, so I took plenty of pictures in the dim morning light of Liberty herself as we approached closer, and closer. She really was a majestic piece of art. She was originally bronze, when America first received her from the French, but the sea salt in the air oxidized her, and turned her into the familiar green we know and love. Science bitches.
6:45am
When I got onto the island, I didn't have much time. I took the elevator up to the top of Miss Liberty, to get a wonderful view of that sunrise skyline. I turned, facing the city, and the sight took my breath away. The mixture of colors, the reds, oranges, purples, and slight blues was incredible. I quickly put my camera to my face, to get a few shots.
I was memorized. Speechless. I mean, don't get my wrong. My sunrises back in Dallas, with the wide open Texas skies are beautiful, and nothing will compare to it. But here, on top of Liberty, looking at the city of immigration, with the natural beauty of the sky behind it....it's breath taking.
I was hooked. I couldn't look away as the sun rose slightly higher, and higher. It gave me hope. If something so normal make a filthy, crime ridden city like New York look amazing, then there was hope for everything. There was hope for me, and Gerard. I had a good feeling about today. How could I not, with a sunrise like that. It was perfect, which meant today was going to be perfect.
7:45am
Fuck, shit, goddammit. I missed the 7:15 ferry back to the city. I need that specific ferry to get back to the city, to get to Gerard on time. No, no, no, no. I got too wrapped up into the pictures, and my own personal thoughts, and didn't make it back on time. He's gonna kill me. Well at least there's a ferry coming at 8am. I'll just be a little over 30 minutes late. It would be a first, but, at least I'll be there.
I tried to call Gerard to tell him I'd be late, and that I was sorry, but he didn't answer. Actually it went straight to voicemail, which means it's either dead, or he took the subway to the coffee shop, so he wouldn't have to deal with the morning traffic.
8:15am
I tried again, but Gerard didn't pick up. I didn't want him to think I was standing him up, I would never. But I suppose he'd call me, asking me where I was if he gets there on time. He'd call, I know he would. He wouldn't let me get out of this meeting, not that I'd want to...but still. I have nothing to worry about. He'll call me when he gets there, I'll tell him what's going on, and everything will be fine.
