Olivia
I took off my apron tiredly after work. It was so busy today, I think this is one of the busiest days I've had, serving, waiting and cleaning.
We have this rota for me and my work mates Hayley and Peter. We switch the jobs throughout the day. We still get the same pay though we just find it easier and we get a break from each so we're not getting bored.
I sighed saying bye to them both and telling them that I will be seeing them tomorrow. Kaiden's car was parked outside of the shop. I smiled getting in the car.
Kaiden looked over to me as I got in his car. "So I was thinking I can cook us food at yours." He grinned happily. "Yeah, yeah. That's fine." I said yawning. He frowned a little. "You tired?" He asked.
I scoffed, "No, I'm fine. It's been a busy day that's all." I said closing my eyes and getting comfy in his seat.
I slightly woke up to someone going through my pockets and then I were picked up and being carried. I was too tired to open my eyes so I snuggled further into the persons chest and put my arms around their neck.
I heard a door open and then I was laid down and a blanket was brought up to my chest.
I woke up once again. I sat up, and smelt the food. I moaned and smiled. "Spaghetti Bolognese, something nice but simple." I jumped and turned hearing a voice.
"Kaiden? Oh my god. What time is it?" I stood up quickly and then had to sit back down again because I felt dizzy.
"It's only 6:00 don't worry. I should have woke you up earlier but I didn't have the heart to. You look so peaceful and beautiful when your sleeping. Anyway, we have guests coming round in half an hour so just be prepared."
I nodded and then realized he said something. "Guests?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. He sighed. "Don't be mad but I invited George and Layla over. You three need to talk. I think what happened was a big misunderstanding."
I threw my head back, laying back down and getting back under the covers. "Nope, I'm going to go back to sleep for 5 minutes, your going to wake me up and tell me that all of that was a joke." I smiled at him and laid back down.
"Get up and get ready. Stop playing." I groaned and looked up at him. "Your so annoying." I replied, going upstairs and getting myself sorted out. I walked back downstairs after around 15-20 minutes and there was a knock at the door.
"You know you should really get a doorbell." I scoffed. "I don't like doorbells," he replied with a chuckle and rolled his eyes at my stubbornness.
He walked over to the door and let them both in, exchanging hugs and they began taking their shoes off, whilst I stood, leaning against the sink, draining the spaghetti.
I put it in a bowl, on the kitchen table. "Hey Olivia? I'm sorry for the other day I was out of order and I was just mad." I turned around and faced George, who was stood next to Layla, holding her hand. "It's fine George. I was just trying to be there for Lays. I hope you understand." He nodded.
I looked over at Layla who was looking up at me smiling nervously. "Come here you idiot." I said and she ran over to me, we both hugged each other and said our apologies.
We all then ate the dinner together and can I say, Kaiden is a gorgeous cook.
When we finished our food and had a small talk and laugh at the table, me and Layla were tidying the kitchen whilst they sat outside in the back garden with a beer in their hands.
I rolled my eyes. "So how do you feel about Kaiden?" Layla smirked at me, leaning against the counter whilst I passed her things to dry up. I shrugged. "He's cute, well gorgeous. But like I said Layla I saw how much it can hurt people, I'm not the one for relationships."
"Do you mean you've seen how much relationships can hurt people because you've been hurt? Babes, you had an abusive boyfriend and then you lost your family in the same year. I know that would have been tough for you, but Kaiden, he's different. He's a really nice guy and he's putting in so much effort as you can see. He even invited me and George around just so we can all talk and make up. Please, just give him a chance and see what he can do to make you happy."
I sighed. "It's not that easy." She shook her head and threw her hands up.
"What would be so hard about it? What's so hard about letting someone in. Someone that you can trust, someone that can love you, someone to make love to you and make you feel so warm and comfortable in the most horrible situations. Someone to reassure you even when everything gets to be too much sometimes. What's not to want."
I shook my head and looked at Kaiden and George laughing and talking. He looks so happy, why do I feel like this for that one guy. It was only supposed to be a one night stand, how did it get this far?
"You don't get it. I can't just drop all the memories and love him. I can't. And you know I can't." I shook my head and used the towel to dry my hands and washed down the counter tops.
"Liv, I've known you for how long. You don't need to put up a front with me." I shook my head once again.
"But that's the thing Layla. I can't with anyone. I can't let down my walls that I've been building for so long. You have the hole filled inside by George. But my hole, it's too big. No one can seal it. You can't even cement it because it will just fall apart. It's not solid. It can fall apart any second and that's what I'm scared of. I'm scared of breaking the walls I've been building for so long and then having to try build them all back again."
I wiped a tear that slipped down my face and sighed looking up. "Just think about it. Sometimes you need to take that risk, no matter how many times you could have gotten hurt. Just try."
I gave her a hug and sucked up my tears, putting on a front once again. "I'll try. It will be hard but I'll try." She smiled and wiped the tear stain away and kissed my cheek bringing me into another bone crushing hug.
