Harry's POV
I woke up, my face pressed to the sheets of Anna's bed. I sat up in my chair, my hand still holding Anna's. I shook my curls and smiled down at her. She was beautiful, her hair brushed neatly down the side of her face, her eyes closed, like she was sleeping.
That's what I like to tell myself. She isn't in a coma, she is sleeping.
Mrs. King walked into the room smiling at me, handing me a Starbucks. It has been three days and the nurse said she will be waking up really soon. "Thank you." I smiled, taking it with my free hand.
She smiled at me. "You know I always knew you would get together." she said looking back at Anna. "You just... clicked. You kind of reminded me of Brian. He was a great man. You know he reacted the same way to my secret as you did. Of course Anna's is much more powerful. I can simple hear them, Anna can hear and see." Mrs. King looked remarkably like Anna. Same brown eyes, same dirty blonde hair. The only thing she seemed to get from her father was her height. But I loved how tall she is, she is only a few inches shorter than I am at 5'9. I looked down at Anna, thoughts of guilt running through my mind. "I know you have been hearing this over and over again but it isn't your fault. She has never been able to handle heartbreak well. When her father died she locked herself in her room for three days. I had to slide food and water through her window."
"I'm sure he was a great man."
"He was." she smiled. It was clear they were in love. "He gave you the note? I presume that is why you went back?" I nodded. "He loved her so much," her attention turning to the girl in the hospital bed, "He would do anything for her. That's why he traveled so much. My job isn't high paying and they offered him more to be an ambassador for his company. I'm just glad she could see him one last time, even if this is how it ended."
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen"
"I know," she smiled sweetly. "You know Harry, I have always been a very big believer in fate. Some things just happen for a reason. I think you coming into her life was meant to be. You showed her things she wouldn't have known. You showed her love."
I looked up at her, "I love her. More than anything. If it could be me in that bed I would do it in an instant. I never meant to hurt her, even for a second."
Mrs. King smiled at me before standing up. "And that, Harry, is what love truly is." She walked out of the room and I turned back to the sleeping girl in front of me, only she wasn't sleeping anymore.
"Anna?"
"Hey." she smiled, her hand closing on mine, holding it tight.
"When did you wake up?"
"When you started talking."
"Anna I am so sorry!" I said letting go of her hand and throwing my arms around her. "I am so sorry!" I mumbled into her shoulder. Her arms wrapped around my torso. Holding her felt so familiar, like this is where I am meant to be.
"Harry I'm sorry I didn't tell you! This is all my fault!"
"Don't!" I said pulling away and looking into her big, brown, beautiful eyes. "Don't say that for even a minute! None of this is your fault!" I said taking both her hands and holding them like I may never hold them again.
"If I had told you-" I didn't know how to shut her up, so I kissed her. I kissed for the first time in days and it felt right. The way her lips moved on mine, how her hands ran through my hair, how her body felt pressed to mine.
"Anna I love you. So much. I'm sorry I let you go." I mumbled against her lips.
"I'm sorry." she said before kissing me again.
