Fifteen

Anna's POV 

Ring, ring. 

Ring, ring. 

Ring ring. 

"HOLD YOUR HORSES! I'M COMING!" I screamed at my phone. 

Ring, ring. 

Ring, ring. 

Ring-

"Hello?" I asked, exhausted from running out of the shower. Too bad Harry isn't home. 

"Hello is this Arianna King?" 

"Speaking." 

"Is your mother Kendra King?" 

"Yeah, she is." I said a little unsure. Suddenly the door opened and speak of the devil. I waved to my mom and she looked at me with a sad smile. She looks good today, wearing a pair of dark pants and a white flowy top. She looks younger. I wonder what she is doing here, I thought she wasn't visiting until next week?

"I'm sorry, this is the hospital, she was found dead in her apartment this morning and pronounced dead at the hospital." 

"What?" I gasped, my mom mouthed sorry as I dropped the phone. 

"Miss. King?" 

"Yeah, sorry." I said quietly picking up the phone. 

"Since you are out of the country we can arrange the funeral and send you the details." 

"Yeah, um, thanks." I said. 

"I'm sorry for your loss." 

"Thank you." I said hanging up and turning to my mother, sitting on my couch. "Mom?" I asked, tears running down my face. 

"Hey hunny." she smiled.

"What happened?" I cried, sitting down beside her. What I would do just to hug her right now. 

"It's a long story." 

"I want to know." 

"Ok. Well I was at home, packing when I heard a knock on the door. I opened it to see these two men. Dawson and Craig were their last names. I knew them in college, we were all best friends but they went a different direction after college. I had a family, they started to sell drugs and became a part of a gang. They knew about my secret, they were jealous. A recent one of their gang members was killed and demanded me to tell them what happened, I knew nothing so they killed me. Stabbed me right through the heart. Anna, I'm sorry I have to tell you this." A light appeared at the far end of the room and my mom smiled. "It's time for me to go." 

"No mom you can't!" I cried. 

"Anna, I love you so much, but it is my time to go. I have told you all you need to know. I can see your father." she smiled, "He looks happy." she said starring at the light. 

"Go to him." I smiled, "Tell him I said hi and that I love him." 

"I will. And Anna?" 

"Yeah?" 

"Never forget that I love you." 

I hear the door to the apartment open but ignored it. "I love you too." 

She smiled her beautiful smile and walked into the light, waving to me and she left. When the light disappeared I fell to my knees and buried my head in my hands, sobbing. 

"Anna?" I heard Harry say as he sat down beside me. "What happened." 

"She is gone. They killed her." was all I could get out. Harry held me close, rocking me back and forth.
