Chapter 1

Katelyn's POV

I fell for it. I knew she was trying to intimidate me, but Ivy, she knew my weakness. There is something wrong with Ivy, though. She was almost possessed with power. Oh well, it's time to rest. I looked at my locket, the one that Jeffory gave me before he went on trial. It was the one locket that kept me sane. I remember him saying things were alright...

FLASHBACK

"I'll be alright Katelyn" Jeffory reassures me, "Take care of Abby while I serve out my sentence".            Tears burnt in my eyes. Knowing Zane, he won't ever be back. Zane would kill him with his own two hands. Noticing my tears, Jeffory finally said "Take this locket, it will be yours and Abby's memory of  me. Remember that I lo-" Jeffory was cut off. The guards took him in for the trial.

I still wonder what he was going to say. I was hoping for an "I love you", but it is not possible. He has only shown friendship towards me and love only to his dead wife. "WHY!?" I screamed in agony throwing the locket to the floor. It snapped open and I saw what could never be possible. I-I-I couldn't believe it. "Jeffory!" I cried, but Jeffory was not really there, it was a hologram from...The Jury of Nine HQ. " Sorry" he wept. "Zane and I made a deal to keep me alive to work in the Jury." I was madder at Zane than ever. My hair turned grey and eyes pure white. It was my Jury of nine form. I knew what this meant. "Zane died, Jeffory, his amulet broke. Find us and come over" I said. The hologram disappeared once again into the locket.

I wonder if he would actually come to find us. I wonder if this deal is all an excuse. I wonder... if he loved me.

Jeffory's POV

I feel so bad for lying to her. She was my best friend and my crush.I still haven't told her the truth, though. I write in my diary...

Dear Diary,

She finally found out about the device  in the locket and called. I should of told her I liked her, as more than a friend. I hope I will find them someday and that she will give me another chance to be her special one. Sorry this is a short entry, but she called late at night.
